You can see how it looks here. The videos by My Life in Gaming on getting the best picture are great:Reprise wrote:Thanks for the tips there. I'll check out VideoGamePerfection. I'm also not bothered about the 50hz issue, like you. I'm more concerned about it for 2D gaming, which is why my Mega Drive is fully modded. So I'll probably try and get a PAL one as well.alienjesus wrote: The HDMI mod kits are rare and expensive...[etc.]

Wow I wish that wasn't so expensive, that vi-de-blur mode is stunning.
Re: SNES Classic coming September 29th
I tried to get a N64 HDMI kit direct but he won't sell the kits to anyone, despite giving him evidence of the several things I've built (like my final year uni project that was full of fecking SMCs, years spent soldering, countless modded consoles all done by myself.) but no. You have to be a recognised system modder to get one. What a load of horseshit.

Well that explains it, a damned snob. I wondered why few people had them and were charging damn near $200 for the work+part. Screw that.
I hope someone copycats it and undercuts him hardcore as that's just sketchy.

It is common in retail for companies to only sell through select distributors. Why is this any different?

I can understand where he's coming from. I watched an install video a while back and from what I remember most of it was soldering a flat flex cable to fine pitch SMD components. It would be very easy for a beginner or novice to mess that FFC up real fast.
But I can also understand being bitter, some of us can do mods like that for breakfast.

He probably just doesn't want to deal with people saying something's going wrong. The advantage of selling them through registered modders is that they have to deal with any issues related to installation - he can focus on production of what I suspect is probably a very fiddly thing to create in the first place

If they saw money in it then you could bet the Chinese would have a crack.Tanooki wrote:Well that explains it, a damned snob. I wondered why few people had them and were charging damn near $200 for the work+part. Screw that.

If someone convinced them to make thousands of adaptors for the Game theory Admiral in 2016 then it might just need the right order to be placed. They can reverse engineer anything in Guangzhou.

It's a bit annoying. I'm willing to pay for it, regardless if it's expensive, but can't. Capitalism fail.

I would also like to buy one, but having most of the games in cart form, I don't feel the loss too much. That being said, it's a shame Nintendo is taking this "deprivation" route with gaming fans, all the while leaving a LOT of money sitting on the table.
