YEAH..

 You just better hope they wait to send all their regards until after the midnight mark so you can pick up some coins tomorrow.

I do have to say Niantic is listening to the players, at least. Not this many immediate changes within days of the updates. They're addressing a lot of issues and bugs too, from what I've seen.

They are doing that, I agree. I didn't expect them to make changes in less than 24 hours.

Now if they could just fix the bugginess associated with battling gyms I'd be a happy camper. There are always a few glitches when I fight, but the new update seems to have heaped about a dozen new loads onto the already buggy pile.

Ah, and I just got my Exeggutor back, along with 48 coins (already got 2 this afternoon), after over 13 hours. Maximum coins reached for the day. Hallelujah.

Raids are on in Spring Hill! I just got back from ** 3 ** of them.

The first one was in a 2-gym area.

4-star Charizard - Met up with 3 Valors, 2 Mystics and an Instinct. Defeated it, but was unsuccessful to capture it (one of the Mystics did Michi) I also earned a Charged TM from it!

Electabuzz - a little bit easier with less CP. Captured it. Appraised fairly well.

At the flagpole gym was Weezing - another easy battle. I DIDN'T HAVE THIS ONE YET, so I finally do! Gen 1 dex is almost complete!!!

Items earned are great - Revives, Golden Razz Berries, Rare Candies, and 3000 XP for each win. It's a LOT of fun, and they're popping up like crazy! I'll share some screenshots later. Get out there!

Is there anything special about the raid catches over a stock one of the same type?

Probably just the rarity of the pokémon, but not sure as I haven't taken any on yet.

I'm keeping an eye out for 4 star raids to show up, as apparently Snorlax and Tyranitar can appear on those and I still need both of those. I have the rest of the raid pokemon.

I wish there were raids for Chansey/Blissey and Dragonite. Would save me a lot of time if I could just catch those buggers.

The IV's/CP are supposed to be as good as those you get from eggs. The Machamp I got was amazing with 15 on attack. They wouldn't put bad ones in after having to fight them then catch them.

Here is what you'll find with each star level.

Still waiting for 4 stars to appear. I will kill a man for that Snorlax or Tyranitar,

Fought a Weezing earlier to try it out and use up my pass so I could get another. Didn't catch it, but it was a lot easier to solo than it's 12000 cp would suggest. I took it out with my 2600 CP Rhydon and Vaporeon with a tiny bit of help from me 2400CP Arcanine to finish.

Gyms are still an issue trying to get on them around here, but at least theres slightly more prospect of me getting lucky and finding one right as their heart meter runs out.

I put a Gengar on a gym I captured this morning. It had 4 blue pokemon within 30 seconds and a full 6 within 10 minutes. Gengar came back within the hour with only 4 coins for my efforts :(

Woo all that work for a ...magicarp! Ouch.

Interesting spread, I do have them all but the 4 armed wonder there, at least his final form.

I've seen a few raid timers in the distance. Not sure i'll ever play along unless one pops up somewhere I'm stuck for a bit though but it looks interesting.

I fought against a Magmar the other day just to see how Raids worked (got nothing but Revives for my efforts. Boo). Two other people showed up and we took it out in less than a minute

Most of the Raids I've seen so far have been Lvl 1-2. Only spotted one Lvl 3 and 4 so far. Hopefully the next time I do, more than 3 people show up. I hear Lvl 4 can be a pain with less than 3 people :?

From my experience, a good trainer can easily solo any 1 or 2 star raid. You just need to remember the type differences:

Fire > Grass
Water > Rock/Ground/Fire
Ground > Electric & Poison
Psychic > Poison

That covers nearly all the 1 and 2 star battles.

3 stars are better with at least 2-3 people. I coordinated with a teammate to take down Machamp and it was much easier.

Psychic or Flying > Fighting
Dark, Bug, Ghost > Psychic (but be careful of the the Ghost/Poison dualtype; Psychic is good against Poison)

Finally, the 4 star raid. I saw a video last night that they can theoretically be soloed with the absolute best stats, but I'd say 4-5 people. The Charizard we had, there were 7 of us there.

Fighting > Normal, Ice (Lapras), Rock & Dark (Tyranitar, double super effectiveness!)

It can be done, and let me tell you, those TMs are really worth it!
