I'm still enjoying it, it's just the constant talking during a duel to the death gets annoying when it's the same stuff again for 2 episodes. It's why I was never a big fan of DBZ but i liked Kai a bit.Gunstar Green wrote:The first two arcs in Super are kind of a slog especially if you've seen the movies, but it gets better.

Eh, there's always going to be dialogue man. Tension! I get that Z isn't for everyone but I love it. Super's pacing is blazing fast in comparison and the story progresses quicker kind of like Dragon Ball.

Just my point of few, the best fight was between Goku and Majin Vegeta. Then Cell vs Gohan.
I love Dragon Ball Z, but I couldn't get into Dragon Ball. I love GT as well, but Z is my favorite. Need to get caught up on Super.
Also, seeking recommendations for a mech series, Gundam included. Any suggestions?

Don't like Dragon Ball... but love GT... someone hold me back!
What are your parameters for mecha? What have you seen or think you might be interested in ? Old shows or new?

Well... Ive seen a lot of the Gundam series, have a few on my flash drives I need to watch. Full Metal Panic is good one. Macross Plus; havent seen it in ages but I remember it was good. Dont hate me! But I don't like Neon Genesis Evangelion. Anything 90s and higher. 80s is okay but I am more picky about them.Xeogred wrote:Don't like Dragon Ball... but love GT... someone hold me back!

If you like the tone of FMP, you might like Nadesico.
I like Rahxephon a lot, but it's a weirder one. I still like it more than NGE in ways.
Eureka Seven.
Heroic Age is flawed but I liked some stuff about it.
I need to rewatch Code Geass. Loved the first season, hated the second, but the show was so over the top and written by the week, it was an unforgettable insane train wreck. lol...
Gurren Lagann.

I put off watching Gundam Build Fighters for years because I thought the premise was stupid...

...and I've been loving it.
It's both a parody and a love letter to the entire franchise and it embraces its own ridiculousness. It's a lot of fun.
It's also an effective toy commercial since I just bought a Gunpla.

I'm still not sure about that one, lol.
I have to say, Gundam IBO season 2 is turning out to be a nice improvement for sure. The stakes are higher and I like how the main characters are in a more vital position now. The Char character of this series has turned out to be one of the dirtiest of them all with the finale of the first season, but there's another character that was closely connected to him that seems to be getting even cooler... and this guy is donning a mask too now. Char vs Char? lol.
It's weird how the "main" character, the one Gundam pilot is pretty lame though. He looks dumb and has no personality whatsoever. Definitely reminds me of Setsuna from 00 in some painful ways, or the main guy in Wing. But at the same time, he doesn't bother me at all. People aren't obsessing over him like the Setsuna angles, and everything else going on in IBO with all the other characters keeps it elevated. The second main character is the leader of the group, older, and seems cooler for the lead role. He tends to do all the talking while the main guy does the fighting.
The action in episodes 27-28 were some of the best in the whole thing too.
Season 2 might be a nice 8/10 at this rate.
