Vanilla is kind of how I would describe Iron Orphan as well it's okay not great. I'd say my biggest complaint was the pacing sucks. I really didn't care much for it especially the second half of season 1 after they hit earth. There are some more decent fights but the climax is kind of meh in my opinion.
There isn't much of a time leap anywhere as far as I remember. I think at most there is a few month leap in between the first an second season but season 1 doesn't really skip around any.
Season 2 has some more expansive conflicts but I got kind of bored 4-5 episodes in and abandoned it though I mean to get back to it eventually.

Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?/Anime Recommendat
Just finished Rurouni Kenshin and I have to say I'm really mixed on the series. I feel like Season 1 was my favorite and the smaller arcs worked great. Season 2 was okay the first arc was pretty good aside from a few pacing issues here and there. However season three.... season three is a shit sandwich. Especially the "final" episode 95 which netflix doesn't even have up. Season 3 just has some really really weak arcs and they tried some weird animation tricks that I didn't care for (spinning quesi 3d layerd effects, real life background footage with filters to make it look animated
, and etc.). Season 3 just really doesn't need to exist and I really wish I hadn't bothered looking up episode 95 on a fan sub site it has to be the weakest final episode I have ever seen. Overall I still feel it's well worth watching but if you aren't digging the so so quality of the final 5-6 episodes of season 2 don't bother watching season 3 it's just a big disappointment.
Also rewatching Sword Art Online 2 just finished up the first arc and I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with the second half since I find it incredibly boring. I actually like the GGO arc for the most part but the Excalibur and Mother's Rosario arc just aren't my cup of tea.
This season I haven't really gotten to caught up in anything aside from the second season of Boku no Hero Academia which I'm kind of losing interest in but I'm still watching as it releases. Was also watching Recreators but I've gotten a few episodes behind on it and I may end up abandoning it.
Really considering starting up Detective Conan since I like really long running series and it would take me a few months to a year of constant watching to catch up to it but I've only ever been able to get 30-40 episodes in before losing interest

That's because season 3 went and did it's own thing, completely deviating from the source material. Fans of the series pretty much just pretend it doesn't existFragems wrote:Rurouni Kenshin ....

Oh damn Fragems, like Michi is saying I wish we could have warned you ahead of time haha. I still haven't watched the series myself, but I will be stopping at episode 60 or so where the canon ends. I hear the filler even kills characters off whom don't die off in the manga, that's absurd.
Also a shame because the final arc in the manga is incredible. I keep wishing Madhouse or someone would do a new adaptation of Kenshin that truly follows the whole manga.
I might finish Gundam IBO today. Yeah, a definite 7/10. I think I should probably jump into the second season soon, otherwise I might forget about it altogether... lol.

I've been wanting to watch a new anime lately (or more like new to me)but I don't know what. Make me some recommendations team.
Some of my favorites are Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Fooly Cooly, Neon Genesis and Ghost in the Shell.

When you say GITS, have you seen the Stand Alone Complex stuff? Two seasons and a movie. It's amazing.
The newer Arise stuff isn't as good as the movies or SAC, but pretty good.
How about Gungrave? Outlaw Star? Trigun? Black Lagoon?

Just finished rewatching black lagoon yesterday, that's a pretty good show. I've gotten into Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragon ball Super now, and I plan on finishing OG Gundam sometime soon.

Excellent choices. Super has been amazing after the two movie arcs early on.
I don't love YYH but I've been wanting to rewatch it sometime. The BD release looks impressive. The fansubs I watched ages ago had this nasty green/blue tint to the video, it probably brought the experience down a little haha. Always nice to see older shows in better quality now.

I'm still in resurrection f arc. Both shows frustrate me; quit fucking talking and hit each other!

The first two arcs in Super are kind of a slog especially if you've seen the movies, but it gets better.
