Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
having watched a few random entries in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series, I figured a better place to start was the beginning. Doomsday is based on The Dead Of Superman and I was quite impressed with everything here.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?

I cancelled my preorder for the Blu-Ray release just so I could get the Digital HD release on Amazon Video. I had $10 left over and bought The Wiz Live.
As for the film itself, it was worth the wait. While considered a box office bomb (it apparently made its budget back and then some) and received mixed reviews, I actually enjoyed it.
I do, however feel as though the film is not without issues. Hopefully the sequel will up the ante and feature way more Power Rangers action, new monsters and the Green Ranger.

Hey REPO, you want to make films, right? So break this one down. What were the problems? What did it get right? Drop the fact it's a property you are a fan of and really analyze it for me.

Bought Logan the other day and honestly I have to say I didn't care for it.
I think it is possibly the worst out of the Three Wolverine movies
. It's just super predictable, over the top with the gore, and the story/characters are bland. Origins may be the popular movie to hate but at least it had a diverse cast of characters and a passable plot although I do have to say Deadpool in that film was horrible. Logan however turns into a really boring road trip with Wolverine chopping off a limb or impaling someones face every 10 minutes for some shock value. The cast is really small with alot of bland characters who mostly serve as cannon fodder. Plus it feels like the story that was there needs alot more exposition to make it worthwhile and instead they just tossed a line or two here and there to hint at what happened in an attempt to keep things mysterious. I guess my biggest issue with the film though is the X-men timeline is such a cluster at this point that it's hard to make heads or tails of it as a whole and this film just seems like another cash in.
Also Logan's illness is so stupid.
I watched the film twice in a row to see if maybe it was better the second time around but it still felt kind of like a cash grab with poor writing and a small budget(99 million is alot but it's half the budget of the other recent x-men films). There weren't really a ton of huge action sequences or effects used in the film either and the effects that were used didn't feel very polished by today's standards.
Altogether this feels like just another attempt at a Deadpool movie and it just doesn't reach same level of quality. They really relied on Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart a ton to carry the film and both of their performances felt kind of phoned in the rest of the cast just felt scrapped together and the Villain was just your standard evil corporation.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Fragems has been sniffing too much of that envelope glue or something.

The Blackcoat's Daughter is an excellent slow-burn horror film, and I highly recommend it. The ending is great, and it is currently available for streaming on Amazon. Get on it, Noise!
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
The pacing is way too slow. Most superhero films of similar runtimes that also focus on the origin of the subject(s), such as the first Raimi Spider-Man, have the main character take up the mantle of the hero by the first 45 minutes. But the new teenagers with attitude don't morph until the LAST 30-45 minutes.Ack wrote:Hey REPO, you want to make films, right? So break this one down. What were the problems? What did it get right? I get that they're trying to show us who the teens are in their everyday lives, but how does that translate to fewer Power Rangers-related scenes?
And then there's the Krispy Kreme. I get it's a tie-in but they're basically throwing it right in their faces. No Krispy Kreme products just lying around (i.e. donut box on a desk, someone drinking a beverage from a branded cup), I mean the Zeo Crystal is hidden under a Krispy Kreme! I get showing Rita taking a bite out of a donut, and thank God she doesn't go "Oh, God that's good! Maybe killing the planet that created this awesome delicacy isn't such a good idea... nah, fuck it!" or something similar. It's just crass and blatant.
Why can't they just morph earlier in the film, clash with Rita, go back to their lives, et al?
Also, why no flashbacks to Zordon and Rita's lives when they were Rangers? Only one scene, at the beginning, of Zordon and Rita. Rita admits to killing rangers before and yet only one scene of her years as a ranger.
And then there's the fact that...
