I'll think about it. I just got sorta burnt by buying Overwatch and not really digging it after a few hours, so we'll see.
Completely different style of game. This is a battle royale

Sure, I know - I just am a bit leery of super-hyped FPS games at present :)
It is third person. It isn't hype, it has been out for a bit and has grown a very large and surprising user base.

Anyone bother with the Nintendo showoff? They did a blow out I very well did not expect almost (Mario odyssey aside) in the least bit.

Two metroid pop ups, one being a wicked remaster of the rickety old Gameboy 2nd title which looks insane, and then Prime 4. WiiU gets it's Xenoblade sequel on Switch by Christmas, also a Fire Emblem game, Mario mid-October, Pokken Tourney we knew of just before that. They're really stacking the deck to rack up some steady consistent good press, A grade titles, and lots of sales if they can get their crappy supply problems on Switch hardware resolved by then.

I was thinking I was done probably buying 3DS games due to time/$ as I mainly just do PC and Switch, but Metroid all in on that.

I just wonder how good the Metroid 2 remake is going to be, given how utterly fantastic AM2R was.

I expect good things from Prime 4, but only if Retro is attached to develop it. If Metroid Prime 4 is being handed to another developer, we should use a little more caution.

Considering we know retro is working on something and nothing we saw was by them, I would safely say they are. You never know though.

Nope, according to Ars Technica, Retro is not working on Prime 4. Here's the relevant bit:
[Update: Nintendo of America Marketing Chief Bill Trinen confirmed on stream that Retro Studios is not working on Metroid Prime 4. Instead, Nintendo producer Kensuke Tanabe, who produced the first Metroid Prime, will oversee the project with his own team. Tanabe also worked on Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Paper Mario: Color Splash
So the guy who worked on Federation Force is doing Prime 4. Nintendo has at least partially un-won E3.

Metroid Prime 4 is confirmed to not be a Retro title. It's being developed in house by a band new formed team.

Yet it is lead by the guy who was the producer for the birth of the Metroid Prime franchise on Gamecube. I think the drama can wait until we learn more to see if it blows, it's average, or excellent.

My interest is really piqued now. Nintendo still has two treehouses, correct? I may have misunderstood. If true, they could still throw out some great stuff. I imagine it will just be extended coverage of what we've seen though.

I still have my fingers crossed for more Wii U ports, but I'm doubtful. I'm mostly interested in Pikmin, Bayonetta, Captain Toad, and Super Mario 3D Land. Probably wishful thinking, unless they figure out a way to put them on VC. Which is again doubtful.
