Bethesda did wonderful things with DOOM, so I am equally excited at this new Wolfenstein. My dad liked New Order, but I didn't play that one. I hope it's similar.

So far, Tunic is my must-buy of the conference. It's so cute!

Ubisoft show is live now. Gotta say as much as i hate the idea of rabbits on the mushroom kingdom they showed me what i wanted to see; you can make you team of only Mario characters and then pretend they are beating the crap out of those devil looking creatures.

I've never really been into Wolfenstein in general until now. But I do want to check out Return to Castle Wolfenstein someday, that one looks cool. As for the original, I played Doom first and it's impossible to go back.
I'm the exact same way with '09. It's just so mediocre and slow there's no way I could ever get through it after playing through New Order Xp . MAYBE on PC, just because I could throw on a podcast while I do it, but definitely not on a console.

I've wanted to try out Return to Castle Wolfenstein as well, because I've often heard a lot of praise for that one. I don't think the original Wolfenstein has aged nearly as well as something like Doom has. You can beat Doom just fine without hunting around everywhere, and by generally just being observant for buttons and key cards. Wolfenstein 3D on the other hand, there are SO many hidden buttons and doors in that damn game that you NEED to know are there in order to complete it. It's nowhere near as cathartic or fun to play as something like Doom is.

Play Catacomb 3-D and then play Wolfenstein 3D. Trust me, it'll make Wolf 3D much easier.

Despite having little interest in Ubisoft stuff thesedays, they had a pretty solid conference and were more down to Earth than the previous shows. The passion comes through and I appreciate that.

Not sure what to make of Beyond Good & Evil 2 being a potential prequel. But I'm still not sold on this being a real game. We need gameplay. lol

Other than that, I think the only thing that interests me really is Far Cry 5, which we didn't get to see much of. They showed off a lot of AC Origins and I'm super unimpressed. All they're doing is dabbling in loot gimmicks and mechanics which do nothing for me. I'm just not seeing reason to play this when it looks so similar to Far Cry now, which I enjoy more personally, and then things like Horizon Zero Dawn exist that look similar but excitingly in fresh new and interesting worlds. I have way better options than AC Origins.

You're probably going to want to play The New Order first, for obvious reasons:

1. It's the first in this new story
2. It's amazing

MachineGames have a lot of ex-Starbreeze staff in their ranks from what I've heard over the years and I think it really shows. The look and feel of The New Order is very similar to the Riddick games they did (and maybe the Syndicate reboot which I hear good things about). They make some good stuff. The New Order is pretty comparable to Half-Life 2 in how it's structured and paced.

I'm honestly not sure. I didn't have any idea of what kind of game it was, and seeing its a modern XCOM like strategy game was the last thing I expected. At this point, I'd have to play it to make a call. As long as it is varied enough and doesn't drag on pointlessly, and brings on some Rabbid humor, I'm all for it unless the gameplay fails somewhere.
