PS4 set to 720p: PS4 scales the image down to 720p and then the TV scales that up to 768p
PS4 set to 1080p: PS4 sends out 1080p and the TV scales to 768p
What do my fellow plebs with ''720p'' TVs do?
Just try each mode, the end result is not the specs, but what looks good to you.SuperDerpBro wrote:Having the PS4 set to 720p would mean scaling the image twice, no?

Make and model number of your 480p CRT TV? I have yet to find an EDTV CRT.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Of my TVs, one is a 480p CRT, one is a 1080i CRT, one is a 720p LDC, two are 1080p LEDs, and one is a 2160p LED. I've only ever used my PS4 on one of the 1080ps and the 2160p. Sorry, but I've never used a 720p TV for anything more than an emergency back-up that usually gets relegated to being used by a guest if I have a LAN party.
