Together Retro: House of the Dead 2
Re: Together Retro: House of the Dead 2
Will my high score be considered valid if I'm using the Dreamcast light gun and have it set on auto-reload?
I know it's shamefull, but I've never been able to beat the game without auto-fire and reload.

Got this game about a month ago for 5 bucks and I havent played it yet, stoked to break it out though I've only played the arcade version a couple years ago

I have to admit, I am much better at Typing of the Dead than HotD 2 nowadays. Its the swarm parts that really kill me.
Re: Together Retro: House of the Dead 2
There are some parts where you need a second player to get through unscathed. Thats kinda why i like it though. If it didn't have those swarmed parts, it would be a breeze to play with 2 people.fast wrote:I have to admit, I am much better at Typing of the Dead than HotD 2 nowadays. Played for about 5 minutes and got to the first boss fight when my dreamcast light gun just crapped out on me and just stopped shooting. Major bummer, unless my local store has DC light gun thats probably it for me on the sega light gun games this month.

Re: Together Retro: House of the Dead 2
so House Of The Dead 2 is pretty much the game that has turned my wife into a gamer. Haha. We've been playing it most weekends and having a blast. I really doubt I could make it very far with a 2nd player though.
Re: Together Retro: House of the Dead 2
I have fond memories of playing this game in the arcades a lot when I was younger.
I bought the Wii version because I remembered having a great time playing this game and the price wasn't too bad either. Everyone knows the dialogue was a little cheesy and I was somewhat prepared for bad acting, but holy hell is it ever bad. I guess I preferred to remember the good aspects of the game and I blocked the awful voice acting from my memory.
I play Typing of the Dead a lot more than the original versions but on both versions I find myself taking unnecessary damage, due to laughing hysterically whenever a cut scene happens. Also having to type out funny words such as "Herpes" and things that aren't actually words cracks me up a bit too. I know, I know; I'm immature.

Honor system on the score database.
I also have the Wii version which I was planning on playing soon (as I finished number 1 on the PC, with the Wii-mote as the controller) so I will jump on board with this.
