But what if that just makes them try to eat my soul? I will have made a grave error!

Bogus you're a cool guy, but even I get tired of you being unable to handle negative opinions about video games. You say that certain games' existence should not offend others personally, then likewise certain' members negative reactions to certain games shouldn't offend you personally. If you don't agree with gaming opinions then ignore them, or express why you like something others don't. But please quit trying to control people's behavior by telling them what they should or should not say about video games. All gaming opinions do not need to cater to your needs.
Hi! I think we are having some miscommunication issues here. This isn't a case of me being unable to handle negative opinions. I simply feel that people like to jump to conclusions and judge systems and games based on prejudice and preconceived notions with no basis in reality.

I personally see no point in hating a game that said hater will never play and never should because said game is not geared to them.

People can have negative opinions. Those are perfectly acceptable, but to hate with no reason behind it outside of it is fun, is just nonsensical. Yeah, the rabbids game looks silly.

Will someone love that game? Absolutely. So why should anyone care if it doesn't cater to their needs and hate on it.

It is like laughing at a kid for getting a chocolate ice cream instead of a vanilla. What is the point?

Is it ironic that a person who believes I am trying to force people to respect opinions is trying to do the same?

I'm sorry you can't handle my negative opinion of your negative opinion. but I should be quiet because you can say whatever you like and I shouldn't because free speech or whatever.

I have no issues with the rabbids, although my experience begins and ends with the Wii title. It could be good, or a travesty. But expressing disdain isn't a big deal.

Heck, I lament that it seems like most JRPGs now are moe/waifu/ecchi stuff. Sure, there are people that enjoy them, a lot of whom are on this board, but it often takes resources from the games I actually want to play. So the existence of this may be viewed as keeping a traditional M&L RPG from happening.

I like how Duke Nukem got all this crap back in the day before Forever dropped. Yet at this rate, Half-Life has been in limbo for just as long if not longer and it's an even worse case leaving us off on a cliffhanger. By now there have been countless reports of the various writers who worked on Half-Life 2 having left Valve. Maybe even the entire team that worked on it are barely even there now, I wouldn't be surprised. A bunch of the staff there have probably graduated from something, had kids graduate, had kids, gotten married, moved, or other crazy life events since the release of Episode 2... lmao.

It's dreamy and even more Portal would be cool, but it's definitely a joke more than anything now.
You left out the important one that actually happened: the writers retired.
I basically said that in there. Hence the team behind the games probably aren't even there anymore anyways. I don't really care at all at this point, haha. *shrugs*

Even as someone who enjoys weeby ecchi games, I understand what you're saying, and I don't blame you for feeling that way.

That's why I get salty when I see Nintendo spending so much time and money making a plethora of games I have no desire for. That's time and money of which at least a little bit could have been spent crafting a new F-Zero, legit Metroid, or even a new Punch-Out. There's a fair amount of Nintendo IP that I still care about, which is all too often ignored for releases which I find uninteresting to say the least.

Punch-Out is a tough one for Nintendo. My understanding is that Punch-Out does miserably in Japan and pretty well in the US. I can understand Nintendo having trouble focusing a lot of attention on an IP that isn't well-liked in Japan.

F-Zero they're not focusing on because they don't want to undercut Mario Kart. Mario Kart is the Nintendo racing IP. F-Zero games would be a distraction from that IP.

Metroid I have no idea about. Maybe they're just nervous about releasing a bad game and harming the IP.

Of course, I'm also willing to recognize that it's all business. I wonder if wargamers had an issue with the proliferation of the RATS back in the day.

Metroid has the same situation. But then again, the western market is a lot larger than the Japanese market.

I don't know if I can get behind that. Nintendo releases a lot of their own first party platformers (like DK, Kirby, Wario) that can be seen as directly competing with Mario. And yet they still do it. F-Zero caters to a different crowd then Mario Kart. I think Nintendo just hasn't been happy with F-Zero's sales since the GBA days.

I believe Sarge is a fan and some of us here can agree that Other M isn't exactly bad... but the damage it did to the IP is undeniable.

I'm not sure I can get behind the Mario Kart vs F-Zero thing either. F-Zero is really different, but this genre in general has been pretty dead (Wipeout, etc). I think Nintendo just hates their sci-fi games. lol, we live in a world where we don't get F-Zero or Metroid anymore, but get a nasty Star Fox game instead. Yikes!

This Redout game sounds great though, I plan to get it on a sale sometime:
