I didn't just decide to call myself a moderate for laughs. I have taken many political surveys over the years, and nearly always end up labeled "moderate" or "centrist". When I don't, I fall into the liberal camp. The truth is I simply find common ground in both conservative and liberal beliefs. I am most comfortable with an amalgam of the best of both worlds. Not all aspects of the two ideologies automatically cancel one-another out.

Different things, apparently. And more people identify as moderate than probably actually are. Though it does seem that being a centrist is mostly, if not completely, extinct.

Interesting, I'm an "MBA Middle" apparently.

That's kind of the fundamental flaw of our two party system; each party ends up being a coalition of what would be a few separate parties in other countries. So there's a large swathe of the country that likes a few things Republicans champion and a few things Democrats champion and you end up having to pick the thing you are most passionate on (either for or against) to pick a candidate.

That's the whole thing. Too easy to profile someone into a box when your only interaction with them is via anonymous turn based brief posts. We're all guilty of it time to time.

I peg Exhuminator more as a moderate with libertarian tendencies. I think I see marurun as leaning more left than moderate, but that may simply be because I lean further right. And as long as no one tries to peg me as alt-right, we're all good here.

And yeah, I'm left of American moderate. I'm pretty damn centrist in terms of European politics, though. America's political spectrum, at times, has more in common with the more 2nd world developing nations than the rest of the developed world.
