I rebought on PC because I figured the sequels wouldn't come to PSP with how long localization took and there's old save bonuses. I'm actually about halfway through the first Trails and I'm planning on doing the other two right afterwards.Sarge wrote:Yup, I concur. I played through Felghana on PSP and it was fine, but for Trails in the Sky, I ended up rebuying the game on PC. It's a lot easier to play without all the dithering and increased resolution.

My advice: Don't go for a perfect score. The reward isn't worth it, at all.
Re: RPG Progress Report
When I realized in chapter 1 I had missed out on a sidequest because you get no indication it exists and you only have a limited window to do it in I said fuck it and moved on with my life. Just finished chapter 2; I'm getting this feeling that the game is going to end with the story hints at the background of the game's events coming to the forefront and going "tune in next game to actually beat these assholes!"

Re: RPG Progress Report
I personally consider Oath one of the greatest remakes in video game history. Up there with REmake. It's just a vast improvement.
Re: RPG Progress Report
It;s a brawler RPG. Can be both at once. Same with Dragon's Crown or about any Vanillware game. Also no I was not comparing it to Diablo. Just that people think there needs to be a certain presentation mold to be a RPG but that's not it. Both are RPGs. Dark Souls are RPGs in the truest sense as well. It's more narrative and mechanics than a presentation.marurun wrote:Guardian Heroes is a brawler first, RPG second, which is to say it is a brawler with RPG elements. It is definitely not the converse, an RPG with brawler elements. Diablo you could get away with calling an ARPG.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Yeah, it ends on a massive cliffhanger. It's literally half of the game, honestly, not unlike Golden Sun.MrPopo wrote:When I realized in chapter 1 I had missed out on a sidequest because you get no indication it exists and you only have a limited window to do it in I said fuck it and moved on with my life. Re: RPG Progress Report
Yeah, I had a feeling that was going to happen given how far I am and how the plot has progressed. Now I'm really happy with my decision to hold off on playing the game until the whole trilogy was localized.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I started a new FFXI account, on a different server than my others, since I figure it'll be interesting to start from scratch and see what the new player experience has become. If I wind up really wanting to get back to playing it, I'd end up consolidating characters - my existing accounts are on the most crowded server, where this new one is on one of the least populated. While I could have just reactivated an existing account and leveled a mule (or created a new one), a new account opens up the possibility of eventually tri-boxing.
There are a few endgame-ish things that require a party of 3+ to enter, expanding what I could solo.
It has been interesting so far - a bit slower to get rolling than I'd anticipated (though far faster than originally). I started with RDM, since that's what I started with back at release, and managed to get to level 25 before heading to bed.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Well, you should wrap up most of the story content from this one in the second game. I think the third is more of a side-story/alternate viewpoint. I haven't picked it up for that reason as of yet. Plus, I still need to finish the second game!
Re: RPG Progress Report
Finished the 3rd palace in Persona 5. That was a fun boss fight in a not so fun dungeon. Starting to like the game a lot more. Still think the plot is weak. Not very attached to the characters really yet. I was already hooked on Persona 4 characters at this stage. I do wish I could still go straight to a boss but nope. You have to leave the dungeon. Sleep. Next day send a calling card then watch a cut scene then fight the boss. It wastes a day. Oh well. Boss fights are pretty fun tho.
