Summer Games Challenge 2017 - Begin when ready!

I've got the EE. I cleared the first floor (?) sometime last year and got a decent handle on it finally. I guess I got sidetracked though, but I'm ready for more immersive FPS action so I think the time is finally now. Gonna start a new game and go in fresh. I also still know basically nothing about the plot for the original, so I'm excited to see what SHODAN is about in this one.

System Shock is completely amazing and its influence is still being felt today. Personally I think it's just as fun now as it was when I first played it 23 years ago. I'm hoping Nightdive Studios' remake lives up to its legacy. Everybody should play SS and its sequel.

Still the King against the Bioshock's and Prey. I think SHODAN just might be the best written AI character ever in any media. And The Many took it to another level.

SS1 is better than SS2 in my opinion from a story and overall aesthetic perspective. And I think SHODAN was more awesome in SS1.

But SS2 has cybermidwives, and few enemies are creepier.

SS1 & SS2 are about equal in my mind. SS1 is better from an exploratory adventure and cyberpunk setting standpoint, and SHODAN is more badass in SS1. SS2 is better from a terrifying immersion and struggling to survive standpoint, with The Many taking up SHODAN's slack. Both games are required gaming IMO.

I never got around to completing SS2, only put maybe 4 or 5 hours in, but it was enough for me to have no qualms saying that SS1 is undoubtedly the better game.

SS1 was amazing from start to finish. Whereas I put down SS2 at the time because I was kind of getting bored.

I realize I should probably give it another chance though.

SS2 only gets better and better. I'm assuming you didn't even get that deep into the many stuff and I don't even want to say much more. Granted, I thought the final boss fight was pretty pointless and "well I guess it is a game" kind of moment, but I didn't mind. The entire ride up to that point is incredible. I think it has a stronger final fourth or so than say, Bioshock or Prey. Both Bioshock and the new Prey open up in the end but it got a little tiresome to me to keep seeing loading screens going back and forth to quickly wrap up some sidequests and such. SS2 on the other hand felt like it still had new areas to progress through up to the end.

I don't think I did, no.

According to Steam my time played was 6 hours. My old save file is of course long gone with my old hard drive, so I can't check to see where I was specifically.

But sure, maybe I can have another go this summer. It's certainly a stronger entry than one other game on my list.
