Was there any specific reason you chose to play through the sequel (Covenant) before the original?

A lot of people (like Exhumy senpai) are salty that it uses the Metroid franchise but isn't a normal game in the series. It's a spin-off FPS with an emphasis on multiplayer, so certainly not what a lot of older fans wanted from a new Metroid game.

I still plan to pick it up eventually once it goes down in price a little. If I can find it at $20-ish bucks, I'll give it a go then.

I'm salty because it's an ill conceived soccer game and not actually a Metroid game. It uses the Metroid name fast and loose. I'm not the only person who doesn't think highly of it:





I don't even care that it doesn't star Samus. They could have made a game starring Ridley and that would have been fine. As long as it was a quality game. But this particular game is shit. Those who say it's not are just being contrarian hipsters.
