What Anime are you Currently Watching?/Anime Recommendations
Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?/Anime Recommendat
Have you seen Gundam Unicorn? It felt like the ultimate conclusion to the UC timeline. It seemed a little convoluted as it went, but the last episode was 90 minutes I think and like the ultimate Gundan finale, had a ton of throwbacks and allusions to 0079 in an awesome way.
It really is weird going through Zeta a second time or more. You can tell they were pumping out toys, honestly. New model units per episode. And I seriously think Haman Karn is only in the series for 8-12 episodes max. Scirocco also disappears for over half the series. It's definitely weird and those are two big flaws, if they were more consistently involved it would have been amazing. 0079 has some filler episodes and flaws, but yeah it's final stretch is very conclusive and awesome. The Amuro vs Char rivalry is top notch.

I really liked Unicorn.
I will leave that statement unedited for people to quote out of context.

Ya know, I really like Kiki's Delivery Service. My daughter and I have watched it together many times. I love how sweet and low-key it is. It's so warm and nostalgic.
What are the best Studio Ghibli films? I haven't seen any others! I do enjoy Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, though that apparently predates the studio's founding.

I've only seen two of them, so I'll heartily recommend both Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle.BoneSnapDeez wrote:What are the best Studio Ghibli films? I haven't seen any others! I do enjoy Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, though that apparently predates the studio's founding.
Eventually I'll get around to doing the marathon, there's just not enough time in the year. Stupid society requiring me to earn money.

Some of the Ghibli Films are definitely not good for kids. Grave of the Fireflies is extremely dark. Pom Poko is full of raccoon testicles everywhere. And I would not let your daughter watch Princess Mononoke until she's older. Unless you're okay with her seeing gory stuff like this:BoneSnapDeez wrote:What are the best Studio Ghibli films?
Grave of the Fireflies
Princess Mononoke
The Wind Rises
When Marnie Was There
Best for young girl:
My Neighbor Totoro
Spirited Away
The Cat Returns
Ponyo
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Whisper of the Heart might be a good one for kids as well (it kinda ties to The Cat Returns).
Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?/Anime Recommendat
I think Totoro is my favorite animated kids (and adults) film.

Totoro would be a good place to go next for sure.

I have not seen all of them but I really liked Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.
