Earlier this week some of us were discussing how we like RPGs which are 20-30 hours long (or less). Well I thought it would be useful if we could come together to create a list of such RPGs. Now this can be subjective, and it is, so as far as qualifiers go...

Short = 30 hours or less in length for your own playthrough.

Good = Your own personal opinion as to the game's quality.

Generation or platform doesn't matter. If you know some good RPGs that fit the above qualifiers, please post them. If this thread proves to be popular, I'll start sorting them into useful lists (by platform at least) in this OP. When you post a game, please list its platform and about how long you remember it taking you to finish.

Chrono Trigger. 15 hours. I don't think I need to say much.

Ys I-II. Still a fantastic ARPG with one of the finest examples of the Bump system. (forget Hylide). One of Yuzo Koshiro's best soundtracks ever. 2 games 12 hours each. Chrono Trigger might be considered a better game in the RPG genre but I feel Ys is the perfect RPG for something short and to the point and is designed to go at a faster pace..not just short but paced just right for it.

Oh man, first and foremost Chrono Trigger has to be put on that list. 15 hours, great story, fun combat and replayability up the wazoo! That is just the first thing that burst into my brain. I will think up some more later.

That's why I asked folks to list their times to beat (as they remember it), so that later I can sort the lists by platform and completion time.

Chrono Trigger is at 15 only if you've played through before. It's definitely under the 30-hour barrier, though.

My actual time was around 17 hours and it was my first play through. I never trust how long to beat cause most people just over level their characters before beating bosses. My rpg completion time is usually drastically shorter than what they post because I barely grind.
