That right there is what made me rage while fighting him. It's bad enough he's hyper aggressive and so damaging, but the bastard can permanently drain your soul levels. That's just... wrong. So very wrong.

And so the hero leaves the Maiden in Black to her fate...

Yep, it's all over. The asshole king is dead, the Old One sleeps again, and Boletaria will return to being only a sort of horrible place to live, instead of completely terrible.

Guys, I really loved this game. Certain parts of it inspired an awful lot of cussing (and I'm a foulmouthed guy in general...) but overall it was inspired, relentless, and just god damn fun. Hell of an experience, and now among my favorite ps3 games.

The Maneaters are the hardest boss, by the way. By far. By so, so, soooo far. Jesus.

I will be moving on to Dark Souls at some point. I also have an in progress game of Bloodborne from about a year ago that I put down for no reason at all. I'd like to get back to that.

Also, 31 hours and 36 minutes played. Soul level of 73 at the end, after having some stolen in the final battle.

First off, congratulations. You're now among the elite git gudders!

I for one murdered her. She failed to keep the Old One sleeping once, I didn't trust her to be able to do it again.

Yeah this game had me inventing new cuss words for a while. Then I just resigned myself to silent seething indomitableness.

They are no joke for sure. But I think the False King was harder personally. Mainly because I played a fat roll character who couldn't dodge worth a damn.

It will take some adjustment to get used to playing normal games again. Everything will feel like it's on easy mode.

There are harder bosses ahead. You guys have graduated, at least for now. 8)

Seriously though, brofist CFFJR. I look forward to you, Ex, and others who still have a lot more of these to play. While I love Bloodborne and it's another 10/10 in my book, I do like the Souls games quite a bit more. Namely because of the aesthetics and they offer a lot more player build potential. I still wouldn't change anything about Bloodborne, but I get more excited when people hit up Souls... and Demon's of course. I'm glad at least some people aren't skipping it. #1 game of the last gen.

Once you guys get, say another one of these in the pocket, they eventually become second nature and it's so easy to jump into them. These games are serene bliss.

Congrats CFFJR! I've left the Maiden in Black to her business as well  There's a similar ending for DS3 (though that one has more than two), which I've also not done.

Alright guys.

I don't know what's wrong with me. I swore this fucking game off. I uninstalled it from my computer.

But today, I downloaded it again for some reason.

I beat Ornstein and Smough after about 10 more tries. I don't know why but I was under the impression that blocking was pretty useless against them. But I have a +9 Tower Kite Shield and an Endurance of 30. So blocking actually works against them - just can't take more than one hit from them... Anyway, I poked Ornstein to death with a +10 Halberd and then cheesed Smough's fat ass around a single pillar stump. It took forever, but it worked.

I'm now at the bonfire right after that fight. For reasons I don't entirely understand, I have 54,000 souls. I ain't moving my ass until I spend as many of them as I can.

I'm SL 51. Any upgrade costs 15.6K souls. My relevant stats are as follows:

Vit 21
End 30
Str 30
Dex 14

Everything else is at baseline levels for a Wanderer. My guess is that I would benefit from more Dex since both my leveled up weapons have a decent Dex component to their damage. Then again, more health is probably always useful....

Also, I'd like to know which weapon to stick with given my stats. I also have a +10 Longsword. I have a bunch of other weapons, but nothing really upgraded. I know some scale better with strength and some with dexterity but I'm otherwise clueless.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Edit - And where the hell do I go now? This place doesn't lead to anywhere (I got the Lordvessel).

Edit 2 - How much of this game is left?

Who needs an easy mode?

Not you big guy.
