I didn't like Wolfenstein New Order either.

I was expecting an over the top, bobmbastic romp like Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

New Order isn't that - it's totally different in feel and tone. It's not bad by any means. It's just not the game I thought I was buying.

I am sick of seeing FPS games everywhere and esp Military FPS games. FPS takeover is worse than when plat formers took over with so many generic animals with 'tude. I like older FPS games but I am just tired of them taking over.

Best to compare it to Half-Life 2.

You can tell it has thick Starbreeze DNA as well. I believe a lot of their former staff are now at MachineGames and it shows (the Riddick games are amazing).

If they had more variety were more creative and nearly all of them try to puggy back on CoD it might be fine but like every Animal mascot in the 90s it was trying to be the next Sonic and just far to many of them taking up shelf space. Overwatch & Doom while I have not played they offer something different these days. Problem is so few are. Titanfall just felt like CoD with a mech...could have just been CoD Mech Warfare. Meh. The mechanics and setting of so many of them are just CoD. Rayman was something totally different in a world with Gex's and Busby's of the world then. Personal preference yeah be neat to see another genre be the new popular thing that gets over exposed but as it stands. They can do far more than gritty and/or military FPS games. Shmups had cute em ups to break away from jets and spaceships.

The Cod games are a mixed bag in their single player experiences, some are great and some are bad. The multiplayer is a fast frenetic fun that lasts a long time. Most people remember the games they play and if they don't that means they played for about 5 minutes.

Usually folks who complain the loudest don't give them a chance. They aren't the greatest, sure, but they aren't a plague.

As for your commentary of titanfall, you obviously haven't played titanfall 2.

But there are different variants. R6 Siege plays a lot different than CoD. Battlefield games as well. Then a current popular game is PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds, which is a battle royale. So there is a lot of variation and creativity, just depends on what flavor you want. CoD doesnt stray too far from its formula, but that is what its fans want.
