Thanx everyone for sharing the information
I am actually buying a new macbook(wearing flame suit) , am not much of PC gamer. I will be running older games so that is ok. I also do not care for top notch graphics.
I am just not sure what to do with this laptop. Its functioning well up until now, and its not my main computer so I worry not to wipe out the hard drive clean. I am just not sure what to do with it.
RAM is NOT cheap its going to cost me $80 to upgrade to 1gb ram on this thing. I rather pay that in a new game (RE5, Dead Space) than upgrading this computer. I am still amazed its only 240kb RAM, it does a lot trust me.
The guy who mentioned stuff about linux, I am computer savvy, but am no expert or programmer. I do not know how to run linux on command line. Now that I think of it, I got wireless on this thing that I believe my hair will turn gray before I know how to make it function on linux. I was thinking of running ubuntu and checking what this linux thing is all about. Although I can use bootcamp and install it on my newer laptop.
Do you think I should just sell it?
While we are at it, are all flash drives equal in quality or some brands are better than others? I am looking at Kingston to store some files for backup, and I really do not need them to fail me.

i tried zenwalk a few months ago, and i just couldn't get used to it. its not to bad if you have a wired connection, but ubuntu detects most peripherals on the spot, don't even need to install drivers most of the time. i wouldn't sell it personally, i would just use it as a netbook, but then again, i wouldn't pour any money into it if you are thinking of getting a new one. the battery is something that would drive me nuts, lol/

Get a new one they're cheap these days. Maybe a netbook (small and cheap few hundred bucks) if you do upgrade ram most machines its very easy

$80 for laptop DDR RAM!? Remind me to never buy a laptop... the lack of upgradability is what keeps me away, and now the price of upgrade parts makes me want to stick even closer to desktops. Butttttttt.... If you're willing to shell out the extra dough for a Mac, then I don't see why a simple $80 upgrade should matter...
Re: PC consulting needed
The RAM is 512kb for $40 , so 1GB is $80
Maybe I will just keep it as internet access in the kitchen or something?
If I sell it, I guess its worth it to buy games with its price or wireless keyboard
I still can test ubuntu on the macbook

Most modern Linux distributions, including Zenwalk, install a GUI. You don't have to mess with the command line if you don't want to. It's there if you want/need it, but you generally don't have to touch it. Xubuntu might also be a good Linux alternative. It should detect most, if not all, of your hardware, automatically do configuration during the install process, and when it's done it should put you right into a graphical user interface that should be relatively familiar in many ways.
