I agree. I feel that, while not the backbone Sega or Microsoft had hoped, these games were important in defininf the console beyond the AAA, Western space.alienjesus wrote:I'm not sure how easy it'd be to narrow down, but 'Sega games' in general were a big part of the XBox line up. Sega really threw their support behind the system and I remember magazines getting excited by some of the games. No idea how well they sold though.

Did Jet Set Radio Future do well enough to be considered defining? It certainly caught my eye, along with PD Orta. My suspicion is that neither were nearly as popular or top-selling as I would have hoped.

I think those are both a little too niche to consider Xbox defining. You might be able to make a case for JSRF though.marurun wrote:Did Jet Set Radio Future do well enough to be considered defining? JSRF was a pack-in game for a good while, so I would include it...marurun wrote:Did Jet Set Radio Future do well enough to be considered defining? It certainly caught my eye, along with PD Orta. My suspicion is that neither were nearly as popular or top-selling as I would have hoped.
Orta is more of a Hidden Gem, IMO though

Morrowind has to be on the list. It was the first real pc port that worked and people went nuts over it. It was a very big deal for the system.
I would say shenmue 2...because shenmue but no it does not really deserve being on the list.

Steel Battalion would be an interesting choice. It's the game everyone knows but nobody played because of the cost of the controller.
