I never heard of this game until a few days ago. It's nice catching up on things I missed as a kid. It's fairly easy but I'm loving the gameplay and simple style.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is what I've been playing on my Switch lately. I'm moving on Saturday so I needed something that I could easily play without taking up too much time.

I'm having a good time with it, even if I am garbage at both Puyo Puyo and Tetris :( Good thing you can skip levels if you're awful enough.

Brownie is the best character in Hard Corps. He is short, so harder to hit, and his weapons can deal the pain.

Woohoo!!! Puyo Puyo Tetris love!!! How ridiculous is that story?! We need to play some time! .... after the move of course.

I'm terrible too! You can skip levels!? That must be something they added for the Switch version, because I could never do that in the PS3 version, so I'm stuck not beating it 5ever ;_;

I just realized I'm technically playing 5 games at once. :? That's just silly.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

I'm a big Ace Combat fan, and have beaten nearly every game in the series. So I finally gave this black sheep a shot last night. Put about three hours in it. To put it bluntly; Namco screwed this up pretty bad. The DFM system is just trash and the game forces you to use it constantly. As a series veteran I find it highly irritating that my own dog fighting skills are made useless by a forced auto dog fighting system. I'm about halfway through already, so I might as well finish it. But man... to take a series from the heavenly bliss of Ace Combat 5 down to this muck raking jank... it just boggles the mind.

Late Shift

Wow an FMV game I actually enjoy, who'd have ever thought? I'll probably finish this tonight so I'll save thoughts for the review.

Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale

My wife and I started co-op'ing this, as she really enjoys action-RPGs. But 'eh... I'm not feeling it so far. Daggerdale got pretty tepid reviews, and I understand why now. It's just so uninspired and wet noodled in every way. I'm not sure if I have it in me to finish this one. Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance this is not.

The 7th Saga

I've been playing though this on my phone here and there. I already ranted about it earlier in the RPG thread. I enjoy the atmosphere, graphic design, and music. The gameplay is terrible because the balancing was destroyed by the localization. I'm going to beat it, and I'll try not to complain about it until the review. Seriously though, I don't know what Ack and Bone see in this game. Yes The 7th Saga is super challenging, but it's super challenging in a trollish bullshit way. It's not super challenging in a legit fun way like Etrian Odyssey, SMT: Nocturne, or Demon's Souls.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Somewhere on world 5 I just ran out of steam playing this. For one thing I don't find the level designs to be as good as the first. I prefer the planetoid style levels, and SMG2 is rather sparse on those. Also there's a lot of star gating going on which I find annoying. As in, you can't progress until you have X amount of stars. So you have to go and backtrack through levels till you reach whatever star blob guy you missed, and fill him up with coins or starbits, until he explodes and opens up a new star path. I mean it's not a huge deal, but it still feels forced and contrived. I'd rather just play through the levels sequentially, and if I feel like going back to get the rest of the stars, so be it, but that should be optional. I will finish this game though, it's not bad or anything. SMG2 is well made. I was just expecting it to outclass SMG1 and that's not the case thus far. But 'eh we all have different tastes, fair enough.

I'm basically always doing that

Currently I'm working on:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch) - I'll eventually finish this and be the last horse over the finish line. Just took out the final divine beast, and I'm at about 107 shrines found now. Still have half the Wastelanbd to explore, plus Gerudo mountain range and central hyrule.

Marvelous: Mōhitotsu no Takarajima (SFC) - I'm nearing the end of chapter 2 here. It's pretty fun, but I've got a long way to go yet I think. I hear it's 5 chapters in total.

Gauntlet IV (MD): I play this fairly sporadically because I'm working through it in co-op with my girlfriend. We're halfway through the final castle, so next time we play we should be able to finish this one off.

SteamWorld Dig (3DS eShop): I've been playing this whilst commuting too and from work. My usual commute games are Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Picross, but I normally finish their daily plays with enough time to get 15 minutes or so with Steamworld before my stop. It's pretty good for short for gameplay like this.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (3DS VC): I started this ages ago and then didn't play it for some time, but I'm getting back into it now. I want to finish it up before I start Echoes, which I plan to do right after this and Zelda are done.

Overwatch (PS4): I play this maybe once or twice a week with a buddy of mine. I hit level 50 last night. Starting to get a feel for some of the characters I used to be a bit worse as. Genji, Roadhog and McCree I still suck royally at though.

Pokémon Shuffle & Pokemon Picross (3DS eShop) - I play these daily. Shuffle adds new content weekly, which I use to fill out my commutes. You get 5 plays before it needs to recharge, so its good for 5-15 minutes of mny train ride depending on what the stages are like this time. Pokémon Picross as described in the games beaten thread is really grindy to unlock new content, so I play for my daily bonus, and if I've unlocked anything recently, I play a few of the stages I unlocked too. These 2 games probably have my highest playtime on 3DS.

Nice choice. I beat it myself a few years back, my HLTB shows 12h 37m. (That's without using a walkthrough or strategy guide.) Overall I enjoyed it, though I thought the final act was a little weak. Gotta love that sexy gorilla!
