I feel like a lot of the praise comes from the world building, subtle storytelling and unique secrets. The combat is flawed, but what makes it engaging is the distinct enemy attack patterns that felt substantial and refreshing. A lot of people say it is amazing because it is hard, but I don't think they realize all the pieces that go into the reasons as to why they like it.marlowe221 wrote:It seems I have developed an unpopular gaming opinion - Dark Souls is WAY overrated!![]()
I'm not saying it's a bad game. But the amount of "game of all time" level praise it gets is completely unwarranted in my opinion.
Anyone care to take bets on how many posts it takes for someone to tell me to "git gud"?
It isn't for everyone, sure and like with all big gaming movements, the chorus of advocates are on the brink of madness, but there is some middle ground that makes the game special.
