It doesn't. The basic Wiimote uses an accelerometer, along with IR data via the sensor bar. Motion Plus adds gyroscope sensors. Games that weren't built to collect data from those extra sensors get nothing out of them being there.

I am gonna be straight up honest. I love the casual Nintendo games. Wii fit. Wii sports... all of it. I thoroughly enjoy the world they built and yes... they built a world and identity that you can tell holds a special place in their heart. Wuhu town is heavily featured in Wii fit through running and cycling and it is even featured as a Mario kart 8 deluxe battle track. Yes, it is for casual play, but it had a theme and it did a great job keeping it consistent.

I liked Wii Bowling and the archery game in Wii Sports Resort.

And Wii Fit was a factor in me losing 25 lbs a few years ago (that I have kept off!), though I used it for tracking purposes and didn't do any of the exercise games on it.

Wuhu Island is also the featured world in Pilotwings Resort for 3DS, and there's a Wuhu course in Mario Kart 7, and a Wuhu stage in Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U. It's a well realized world that is very welcoming and relaxing to play in.

It's hard for me to be objective about Wii Sports/Resort. I spent so many wonderful hours playing those games with family and friends years ago. It was always good times. Seeing my brother bowl-throw a Wii Remote into the TV (right after he got done mocking the wrist strap and refusing to wear it), sword fighting my girlfriend (who became my wife) with the beam swords, boxing my daughter (who was very tough), lazy Sunday hours of golfing and frisbee with various friends. For all the good and bad things Nintendo's done in the past decade or so, Wii Sports is simply one of the very best.

For those of you who love Wii Sports/Resort I strongly recommend getting this:

It is secret Wii Sports 3, and a fantastic game to play with friends. (There's also Wii Sports Club on Wii U eShop.)

Ugh fuck Pilotwings 3DS. I asked for a sequel since N64 and that is not the game I was looking for.

Maybe Old Ben Kenobi was waving his hands around you at the time?

"These aren't the Pilotwings you're looking for. You don't need to see their identification. Move along."

I never finished Pilotwings 3DS, but I got pretty far in it. I didn't love the 3DS version, but I thought it was a lot better than the shitshow Pilotwings 64 was. This is coming from a guy who adored the original Pilotwings on SNES.
