I think with Mega Man - yes definitely get both - but for a list aiming for little duplication, we may do a poll and see where everyone stands. I think Legacy collection being portable also is a feather in its cap.

Tecmo Classic Arcade (Xbox) - glad Dave mentioned this one. Maybe the most obscure compilation of all-time given the subject matter and exclusivity to the Xbox. Per Gamespot review, the emulation is really good. It, somewhat famously (to like, me) has the arcade version of Tecmo Bowl.

Dude check my post on the first page about this. Unfortunately they goofed the port of Rush here horribly, it has severe audio issues among other things. I grew up playing the heck out of Rush on the N64 and arcades, but was basically done with this after a few minutes.

2049 seems fine but I don't know if it has saving and some of the other actual console features.

I thought the ports of all the games - including Rush - were passable and, frankly, most of the games are emulated very well. The review scores run the gamut (http://www.mobygames.com/game/midway-ar ... 3/mobyrank) with many of them simply knocking the scores because they felt the games didn't translate well to the living room (sans wheels, special levers, etc.). Most mainstream publications seem to place it around a solid 8/10.

For Midway games I'd go with the three Treasures releases over the Arcade Origins collection that came out last gen as it offers only about 30 games and, by many accounts, suffered from poorer emulation that the games on the PS2 did. I have the collection but haven't spent much time with it myself...

I guess I missed why, though I still think the stand alone Doom Complete Classic Collection would be way better for the originals. You're getting close to 100 more levels over the BFG's inclusion of the original two games there.

If we want to get picky, I don't see why the Sonic Mega and Gems Collections make the cut? I guess because if you're not caught up on the more current hardware. Sonic CD is available standalone everywhere now and otherwise, the Sonic Genesis Ultimate Collection has probably everything the Mega/Gems collections have combined, plus more. I haven't touched Mega/Gems since getting the Ultimate collection and never will again.
