The thing that bugged me most with Isolation was how picky the stealth was. It seemed like the Alien and other AI liked to sit on top of you if you took things to slow and eventually that pissed me off.
Finally quit after a section mid game where you were in a circular hallway or something with a ton of small rooms. You had to duck into the rooms to avoid the alien since there wasn't much cover in the hallway. Most of the rooms had closets/lockers you could hide in, but every time I did the alien just sat in the room or went in and out a few dozen times before grabbing me out of the closet. Tried a few different approaches like running if the alien if it passed the room I was in but I guess I wasn't playing it the way the devs envisioned so I got slaughtered every time.
After that I took a breather since it's a super tense game and I just never got back to it.
What are you playing?

That sounds like the mission in the medical area. That mission sucks! My file is currently stuck there too, no matter what I try I just get murdered by the alienFragems wrote:The thing that bugged me most with Isolation was how picky the stealth was. That's probably the hardest part in Isolation. Don't let it ruin it for you, the game is amazing!
Got to the 5th stage in Super C.

Re: What are you playing?
I got to the medical area (mission 5) and just called it quits right there. Not because of any alien mind you, but because the guy gave me a mission and then I literally could not figure out how to progress. There were no switches, open doors, or anything, and my mission marker just told me to go through an unopenable locked door O.o . I wasn't enjoying it nearly enough to justify looking crap up online or whatever, so I just tossed it in the sell-pile. It's like THIS close to being a really great game, but the mechanics (and level design, apparently) are just shy of where they need to be to keep the game actually fun and not frustrating (a problem a lot of horror games have, tbh). A game I really wanted to like, but just couldn't. Sadstrangenova wrote:That sounds like the mission in the medical area. That mission sucks! Front Mission Devolved
Started playing this today, put about three hours in it. I had no idea there were on foot sections. Because of course you want to jump out of your wanzer and go gunning around on foot, that's why you bought a giant mech piloting game.

PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: What are you playing?
Thinking it over I think I got past the medical area where I got stuck was a few areas later. Game just increasingly forces you to confront the alien more and more often and he manages to pull some real bs when it comes to sensing you and good luck escaping once he's spotted you.
For a while I was getting more pissed at Handymen(or whatever they are called) but at least you can get away from them.

Y'all talkin' about Pikmin in the Beaten thread made me really wanna play it again, so I went through a few days this morning. I forgot how frustrating the AI in the first game is. Not goin' quite so bad though, so far. I've never actually gotten all 30 pieces, so I'm gonna go and try for that this time. I'm really enjoying the Wii port so far. The control isn't 100% intuitive for someone who's played SO much of the Gamecube version like I have, but it's still fun.

RBI Baseball 2017. Not played a Baseball game since Nintendo 64 era when I stopped watching. Slowly creeping back into it.

Lol, I know that was an odd choice but at least they are pretty quick segments. I feel Square was cranking out titles then to get back in the game, not the best entry in the series but a fun time to be had I like the levels and missions. Be warned the last boss is very tough!Exhuminator wrote:Front Mission Devolved

If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
