As an owner of an Xbox I would feel like a Genesis owner when final fantasy and Chrono trigger, etc were dropping for snes. Thankfully I am able to have both nowadays.

I'd rather play the Phantasy Star games anyway. 8)

Geuss I should have qualified that by saying Sega did have good excusives of their own.

Funny thing is, though it is mostly digital, Sony has tons of backwards compatibility. Also I think last time I saw there are 450 games playable through PlayStation now.

But hey, they have recore and, uh, anyone want to buy a barely used Xbox one?

Xbox One has lots of backwards compatible stuff as well. They add new 360 games to that list on a weekly basis.

Yeah I know, not to lessen it as a feature but they make it out to be a system seller. They seem to just be letting first party and exclusive titles go by the way side. It is almost like they don't care. I want them to do something to make me feel compelled to buy a Scorpio.

Heck they don't even have a legitimate baseball game on the system. That just feels wrong.

the baseball thing isn't their fault of course. There's no baseball game on Nintendo consoles nor PC either.

Anyway, just to get back to Xbox One talk - not sure if anyone else heard that they have announced VR support upcoming. I'm pretty sure it applies to Xbox One as well as Scorpio. Details are still cloudy. But they'll be using (several) 3rd party licensed HDK's. The one they've shown so far is made by Acer. So so so... I'm really hoping that it'll allow the Rift to work on console.

It is a system seller to a certain group of people. Sure, PlayStation Now has several backwards compatible games on there, but you can't put a PS3 disc in the PS4 and have it work, nor can you play the game on PS Now if you own a digital license for a game that is available. The Back Compat feature on XB1 is far superior to PS Now in that regard and I can sure see it being a seller for those consumers that are hanging onto their 360s because it plays Call of Duty Black Ops 2. Microsoft is saying, hey, go ahead and upgrade and you can still CoD BlOps 2 with your multiplayer group and play Black Ops 3 on the latest system.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Speaking of Backwards Compatible games, Microsoft is launching a Backwards Compatible game super sale this coming tuesday. Apparently 275 BC games will be on sale up to 75% off. That's a large chunk of the BC library.

Backward compatibility wasn't a system seller in and of itself, but it certainly was a factor for me. It feels good to know that all the time and money I spent on my 360 last gen wasn't going to be for naught this gen. Also Gears 4 was the decisive factor about which console I was going to get. Ive always loved the gears series

I have a bunch to add to this thread, but this is an awesome sale idea. I've been nabbing 360 digital cheap - even 360 only games with the idea they'll eventually be BC (Saints Row 1,2 for $2.50 each this week).
