Basically. It's pretty shameless. One character plays like exactly like an assault suit with all of the same armaments from Valken and the other character plays like Strider. It's kind of neat that the two characters have wildly different mechanics. It's certainly rough around the edges but it's not bad for what it is.

I actually got this in a bargain bin in the 90's and played it before I even knew what the assault suits series was and thought it was cool. When I eventually discovered Cybernator I was like, "Wait a minute..."

Looks like feathers were ruffled. Pulled what exactly? I admit to perhaps delving into the realm of "too obscure" but nothing was counter-intuitive, as a cursory Google search of "Retron 5 vs. RetroFreak" would have revealed capabilities of both systems.

Ya know, I almost took Xumy's suggestion to post a Micro Cabin game, but I figured that was pierrot-bait.

Spinoff of a popular Capcom series. Only in Japan. Handheld and console.

Japan and PS1 exclusive. This is an odd game in dev's line-up since they mostly made SHMUPs.
