I'm starting to learn how to deal with them, one of the tricks I've been using with the snipers is to set off a bomb before I get them on screen. Slows things down, and nukes them at the same time.
Also, if you can hang on to the flamethrower, it makes that first phase of the drill boss easy. Go to the right side of the screen, and slide over just a smidge to the left and aim it diagonally down. Takes a little bit, but it's an easy, risk-free kill.
Stage 4 is actually kinda easy, except for the missile boss. I did figure out a pattern there last night, though, so I think I should be able to repeat it.
Stage 5 is rough, but not quite as rough as it could have been. Turns out you can fight the sand traps effectively. Double-tap L, and you spin at a faster rate, and it can counteract pretty well. Just a matter of lining up your shot, which might take a bit, but if you're holding on to a laser, you can dominate the boss quickly. Also, the order you take out the spawn points can help a lot. A good weapon, especially the homing missiles, makes things a lot easier too.
What are you playing?

I never see much talk about Super C, it looks awesome though.
Gonna get back at Contra tonight!

I thoroughly enjoyed it.harper wrote:Trying to give Eternal Darkness ('cube) another shot but man, I just can't get into it. Is there any particular reason why I should try to stick it out or is this game just overrated?

I like Eternal Darkness a lot, but I don't like most survival horror games.
I was really into the whole Quantum Leap thing it had going on.

I started Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on the Sony Playstation 2!
After the heavy and very long Xenosaga, I wanted something with less story, something that had more action to it. So, I started playing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.
I am no stranger to this game as my friend and I have played it a TON. I think it is a little too broken and a little too over-rated. However, I do find it enjoyable and always love unlocking stages/characters/costumes in the game.
I am treating it like Smash Brothers. I have already 'beaten' the game, but I want to unlock all the characters before I stop playing.

All the Marvel VS games are a bit broken. That's kinda the point. They're not meant to be balanced tournament fighters but flashy hot messes of fun.

Started Alien Isolation today. It's pretty darn scary so far, but mostly just because I REALLY don't wanna die to have to redo stuff again. I'm not really digging the stealth system so far. It seems like it works just well enough that you can get through a bit if you're lucky/time it just right. Might move onto something else. I did just get the motion tracker, though, so maybe that'll help with things. It is fairly stupid that they don't give you your objective marker (also the motion tracker) until the middle of the 4th mission though O.o
