We went to visit family in Indiana over the last couple days and I picked up some nice new stuff that isn't typically found down here in la Florida.

New catches:
Dunsparce
Sneasel
Swinub

I've seen Dunsparce pop up on the radar around here, but this is the first time I've finally nabbed him. The ice-types, though, were completely new. Naturally, they helped me pick up a new medal:

They also had a lot of evolved Pokemon running around my relatives' town. The park was full of Elecetabuzz, Downtown had several Jinx and I had a Raichu and Vaporeon show up at the hotel we were staying at.

But the best thing, was picking up this gal out of a 10k egg-

Finally!
It was all a bit of a pick-me-up after the crappy week I'd had the week before.

Wow, amazed by the rarity of Sneasel and Swinub where you are. Swinub is as common as Pidgey here, no joke. Sneasel is relatively common too, I probably see one most days.

I assume the reason for that is that the typical temp in Florida doesn't reach below the mid 50F during winter and is usually 90+ in summer. So I guess the ice-types wouldn't naturally live here is their reasoning....or something.

Got some new additions lately.

I caught a wild Ledian, which saved me the effort of finding more Ledyba

I found enough wild Snubbull to evolve one into Granbull, so I got that too

I've found a few more Teddiursa lately, although he's still a ways from evolving. The same goes for Hoppip.

I found a wild Slugma, so I can start working towards getting my first Magcargo.

I also found a wild Shuckle nest, so I got that too.

I hatched my first Pichu, followed instantly by my second Pichu, so I used the candies to evolve the party hat Pikachu I'd been saving to get Party Hat Raichu.

In addition to all those new things, I got a couple of decent Machops and Rhyhorns, and caught a totally medicore, but still cool to find wild Nidoking too. I also saw a wild Stantler nearby, but it was very literally at the top of a mountain and I did fancy trying to hike that fucker in 10 minutes to catch it, so I had to let it slide.

Teddiursa are crazy common around here. I've got 3 Ursarings right now.

Got an Eevee from 5km, so got yet another Flareon (Ember/Fire Blast) and powered it up to around 2480 because it appraised well. (amazing/HP best)

I also found a wild Xatu today (I've already got one) but that's still pretty neat.

There is a new version floating around, 0.63.1 but I'm unsure of what it fixed. The newest datamine of the APK shows some interesting new code. The gym reworking I feel will be dropping by the end of the summer.

Haha, Xatu is super common round here. The common stuff I see are the usual pidgey and rattata and sentret and hoothoot lines, plus natu, swinub, wooper, Marill and to a lesser extent sneasel

I forgot to mention my Steelix I was able to evolve the other day. Iron Tail/Earthquake, best moveset!

So that leaves me with two left that require those items (the evolution of Sunkern w/ Sun Stone and Porygon-2 with Up-Grade)

Listed out all the currently available, non region-locked pokemon I still need, and there are 36 of them. Feels like a long way to go considering I was only about 5 away from finishing gen 1 when gen 2 launched. The variety of gen 2 mons available has been far more limited than gen 1 lately.

I still need:
8 unevolved pokemon that need caught or hatched
5 baby pokemon who need hatched
13 pokemon who evolve from things I already have via candy
3 pokemon who evolve from things I already have with an item + candy
7 pokemon who evolve from things I don't have yet

My priority is finding the missing 8 that can be evolved. At least I have a means to get a lot of the evolutions, evenm if it is by tediously grinding for buddy candy.

New event starting the 18th

- Rock type pokémon more common
- Buddy candies 4x faster than normal
- Pokéballs 50% off in the shop (who cares?)
- New explorer hat available

The rock type thing is generally unexciting for me as I have most of them. That said, I could use more Larvitar, and a Magcargo wouldn't go amiss if I'm really lucky. The only rock types I need are Pupitar, Tyranitar and Magcargo.

I'm going to make use of the quadruple candies though. Should get me my scizor, and then I have lots of options after that.
