I use narrow shipping boxes. You can find them at office supply, or mailbox stores.

Here you go. Smaller one has gameboy, and the slightly larger one holds game gear.noiseredux wrote:shallowgamer wrote:I use narrow shipping boxes. You can find them at office supply, or mailbox stores.

It's been years since I've purchased, as my gameboy and game gear collecting leveled out.

Re: How do you organize yr GB/GBA collection?
This...

...is how I used to store my GB collection, anyway. While it made for some cool photos and made everyone go
when they came into my room, it became pretty inconvenient when I wanted to play a game that was near the bottom of the stack.
I think the Shallow has the best solution I've seen thus far and I did something similar later, but I still dream of making a proper Gameboy shelf from scratch that is designed around storing only Gameboy games. Lack of proper design software is making me procrastinate.

Just thought I'd add some pictures for my "Modified DS cases" solution:

DS cases + covers from The Cover Project really makes the collection look nice. And it also helps in finding the game you want.

Damn, dude, your custom cases are so cool. Gotta overcome my laziness and do something similar.

Wait a minute, how did you make DS cases that only have room for GBA/DS games fit GB/GBC games?

Re: How do you organize yr GB/GBA collection?
I am shamelessly stealing pictures from The Cover Project. All it takes is a small knife.

Although I put the game in upside-down, so that the clips match up with the bevel on the game. It makes it a bit more secure. It looks a little messy on the inside, but you only notice it when a game isn't there. I also make a solid line on the bottom end, as opposed to trying to match the outline of the DS clip.
A full set of guides on getting things into DS cases can be found here. I got my Virtal Boy games into the cases in a similar manner to how the Game Gear games go in.

Wow, man. Those really look great. I think I'm gonna have to consider ordering some DS cases and doing the same!

Re: How do you organize yr GB/GBA collection?
hey guys, sorry to revive this old post, but i have something to add.
Rather than modding US DS cases to fit these old games, you'll have a much easier time with the PAL cases. I did a few tests with the Rhythm paradise case and a copy of metroid 2.
the PAL cases are much deeper, and because of this, you'll find that GB/GBC games fit snugly under the prongs (without bending the prongs, or putting too much pressure on the game, probably because of our bigger, multi language manuals). The downside to this is that your manuals wont fit aswell, however, if you do Mod the case to fit the game and manual, theres much less work involved, due to the fact that the DS slot is much lower down (meanign you dont have to cut that away AT ALL), and the GBA slot having less plastic to cut at.
sorry for the (very) small pictures and low quality (it was taken on a webcam) but heres an example of what you'd need to cut, and how things will fit in:
P.S. i'll post better pics when i get a camera.

A game sitting on the GBA slot (this case is unmodded, but it shows you that it'll fit comfotably): http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n162 ... baslot.jpg
