Re: Zeebo
You can do that with a DC and a CDr, it will probably run you less than $50 too

Re: Zeebo
The D-Pad is just horrid, even the DC's is better, think an oversized 360 pad, only not as well built
Re: Zeebo
What's the possibility of modifying a different controller to work with it? And is it true it works off direct download? I can see that working with second world nations that have developed enough infrastructure for Internet usage, but how will that help the third world that lacks that infrastructure?
I will say, I like the idea of bringing older games to the masses in poorer nations unable to afford everything, if only so we can spread our favorite past time with others. But...I just wonder about the feasibility.

Re: Zeebo
Ack, to clarify, nowadays there are no countries belonging to the "second world". It was a phrase used to describe communist countries during the Cold War. There was the First World (modern capitalist economies: US, Western Europe, Japan), the Second World (communist nations: USSR, China, Eastern Europe) and the Third World (the rest). Since the 90s countries that belonged to the second world have moved to the first or third world on common usage, depending on their relative standard of living. Anyway, I get what you meant, but wanted to point this out.
As to your question about poorer countries, Zeebo will most likely not help them at all, as it is aimed at so-called developing countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
It is possible that there'll be a way to mod other controllers to work with it, since they're connected via USB ports.

Re: Zeebo
Actually, the term "second world" has come to mean nations that have already reached a certain level of development, but haven't reached first world status yet. This includes such nations as Thailand and Bosnia. Some folks are attempting to claim it's now developed nation versus developing nation, but I disagree, if only because I feel there's enough differences between a nation well on its way, like Russia, doesn't compare with a nation like the Republic of the Congo.
I had to do an assignment that dealt with the new definition of "second world," hence why I know about it. Still, the answer that it was for Soviet nations is correct.
I'll definitely have to look into controller mods on this thing then. It would be pretty interesting to find one someday, way down the road.
