I'll give it a go on the emulator, but if anyone with a flash cart is willing to give it a go I'd appreciate it!Ziggy587 wrote:alienjesus wrote:I fired up Marvelous: Another Treasure Island. Anyone else got this game and encountered the same thing?
Try playing the game in the bsnes / higan emulator (because of its accuracy). If the problem is there too, then you know it's not the Retron5. And vice versa. Else, someone can load it up on a flash cart for you and see what happens in order to make the same determination.

I played through it on my SFC a year or two ago and absolutely adored it! I hope you enjoy italienjesus wrote:I fired up Marvelous: Another Treasure Island. It's fun, and I'm playing with the translation patch, but I'm having issues with the music cutting out frequently on my Retron5.

Watchdogs 2 continues to scratch many itches of what I love in open-world-city games. Getting kind of Infamous-vibes to be totally honest. I'll be more in depth when I review it properly. Writing is still very funny. The cops are also OUT FOR YOUR DAMN BLOOD and are some of the most difficult to lose I've encountered in a GTA-style game, so there's that I suppose

Binary Domain
I think I'm almost at the end of chapter 3 now. These chapters are pretty long for a cover shooter. I ended up dropping Rachael from my team, her bossy snotty attitude grated on my nerves. Now I'm marauding with Faye and Cain. Having a sexy Chinese sniper and a wise-cracking French android as my backups is fun.
I've seen Vanquish and Binary Domain compared on forums a lot over the years. Understandably as they're both futuristic cover shooters about shooting many robots. I don't understand at this point how anyone could consider Binary Domain better than Vanquish. Unless you're solely focused on the story and characters that is. From a pure gameplay perspective Vanquish destroys Binary Domain. (Although Binary Domain does allow blindfire, so that's nice.) That isn't to say Binary Domain doesn't have merit, or is not fun, it is. But a Vanquish-killer? Not from what I've seen so far.
If I have time tonight I'll try to nab a couple stars in SMG2. I still want to finish that one. I just don't find it as engaging as Binary Domain.

PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Remember you can dodge all bullets by ducking. Only time you should have to really get out the way of anything is grenades and the rolling crap, which you should be able to shoot pretty quickly.
Re: What are you playing?
I got to the Base2/Level 4 boss. I'll keep plugging away at it. This game is awesome.
I think I did beat this one back in the day with a friend, probably with the Konami code. We also beat Battletoads.

Trying to give Eternal Darkness ('cube) another shot but man, I just can't get into it. Is there any particular reason why I should try to stick it out or is this game just overrated?
Re: What are you playing?
I played it and loved it when it came out, but haven't played it since, so maybe it hasn't held up well? I really liked the insanity mechanics and how each level was with a different ancestor and how it all came together at the end.harper wrote:Trying to give Eternal Darkness ('cube) another shot but man, I just can't get into it. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

So I think I have some pieces for a legit Contra III Hard run. It's not the bosses that get me (except for that stupid wall drill boss, ugh!), it's the stages. Specifically, I expect Stage 6 to be a right pain. That whole segment with the aliens flying around everywhere and the stupid mouths... just not cool, man. Gonna have to GIT GUD.

That Wall Drill boss is a right asshole on Hard. I'm only a few attempts into the difficulty, and Stage 3 in general has been a pain. The 2nd sniper must be telepathic, he nails me far too oftenSarge wrote:So I think I have some pieces for a legit Contra III Hard run.
