I'm kind of surprised nobody has objected to Super Adventure Island.

I know I brought it up, but I was fishing and didn't think it would fly as a classic. Am I out of touch on this one?

So you were......... fly fishing?

I just don't know anything about those games, honestly.

I just never got around to weighing in. I don't think it works, but it is a game from a well-known series. Probably borderline.

I haven't definitely decided to replace them yet, but I was looking for some options for if I decided to swap out Soleil and The Twin Snakes from my list.

What do people think of these ideas:

- Bonk's Revenge (PC Engine)
- Kingdom Hearts (PS2)
- Resident Evil REMake (PS3)
- Clockwork Knight (Saturn)
- Crystalis (NES)
- Vib Ribbon (PSN)
- Star Control 2 (3DO) - Anyone know how long this one is?

I was currently thinking of keeping Twin Snakes seeing as others have suggested they're playing it, but swapping Soleil for Bonk's Revenge in order to keep another 16 bit game on my list.

Is anyone planning on playing any of the others I listed. Any people would dispute the classic status of?

This will be a MAJOR challenge, because
It sucks.

:P

Probably the most boring/repetitive ARPG combat ever.

I think Bonk's Revenge doesn't beat the original in every way, but I do think it is a better game all around.

What makes Crystalis a classic and not Clockwork Knight?

I don't think being on 3DO means Star Control is any less classic. Especially when it's commonly regarded as the best game on the system.

Crystalis was actually popular during its day, and it even got a Game Boy Color port due to continued popularity. People still talk about Crystalis regularly on classic gaming boards, and always praise the game.

Meanwhile Clockwork Knight was only marginally popular with Saturn owners alone, never got any ports, and only grows more obscure every passing year. That's not to say it's a bad game, but a bonafide classic? I don't think so.

If you want to play Star Control 2 on 3DO go right ahead. I just don't care for the 3DO personally. I'd much rather play the game on PC.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
