anyone play the Prey demo yet? I have it downloaded on my Xbox but haven't actually fired it up yet. I don't know. I'm kind of interested. Mostly for the alien designs.
Funny enough my wife said of the commercial "those graphics look like the game is from 2002." I laughed... she may be a bigger PC gaming snob at heart than I am!
What single player FPS campaign are you playing?

Bro let's be honest, this is Arkane making their own System Shock. You don't like Deus Ex, Dishonored, Bioshock (?), etc.noiseredux wrote:anyone play the Prey demo yet? I don't think it's for you at all. lol
On another note, this retro throwback Project Warlock looks promising:

I'll definitely have to get to it once I finally end up buying Nier: Automata and the new Torment

Yessir. It will be interesting because it's coming from Arkane Austin TEXAS, their second office. So it's not the Dishonored 2 team, though I'm sure there was some crossover.
Also Chris Avellone supposedly helped on the writing.
Good news so far for the PC release, I'm seeing a lot of positive reviews and forum posts on Steam that the performance doesn't have any issues. But there's apparently no in game FOV slider, so you have to go to the config file for that which is fine. But the bigger thing is that apparently you can't turn off Motion Blur... which I freaking hate. Hopefully they work on making that an option asap. Either way, looks like I might be playing this tomorrow at this rate!
Dishonored 2's engine was Void, some modified idTech5 stuff. But Prey is using some CryEngine.
A lot of reviews are saying it feels like Half-Life 2 meets System Shock.
Also for anyone upset that this isn't 3D Realms Prey or anything... I dare you to go back and try to replay that game. I tried last year and holy balls. It's not fun. It beat Portal to some cool portal ideas. It's a really pretty looking idTech game. But the combat and walk speed is super terrible. And their build of Prey 2 didn't look good. It just looked like fetch quest city and boring mid 2000's open world sandbox MMO side quest styled junk. So I for one am glad that Arkane are doing their own thing with it.

I didn't hate it. I was actually impressed by it. But I wasn't good at that gameplay style and lost motivation.Stark wrote:You don't like Dishonored? What is wrong with you?noiseredux wrote:That was my worry man, haha.

I hated the Deus Ex games I tried to play though.

Prey seems absolutely amazing so far. This is absolutely Arkane Prey System Shock.
Runs flawless on max settings with my 1060.
