I can get my hands on a ps2(even modded to run backups) , and it is very tempting, and soon I will get a new laptop(run emulators, World of Warcraft)
But I am really worried I will be washing my life down the drain because I tend to want to play all the good games, and I am at the age where I better start working and get a life.
why is the ps2 is still selling?

This is the problem with being a "real" gamer. If you don't play every game that comes out and spend 30+ hours a week doing it, you can't keep up. (See also: the "time spent gaming" thread.) Look, I work and have a life and I still find the time. It's only a little time, but still. It's OK, you'll make it.

The ironic part of getting a job is that now you can buy all the good games but you have less time to play them in.

What is funny, all the games you wanted to play are even cheaper in price(older games you never got to play as a kid), but again time is scarce
