No, PC Engine, hands down. Think of how few games in general we got, how few RPGs, and how many RPGs, and great RPGs, there were on the platform. Yeah, there's a lot of good SNES stuff we didn't get, but I think the PC Engine really is the largest available console pool of unlocalized gems.

It's where we missed the most RPGs, sure, but I meant where we missed the most amazing RPGs. If someone would elucidate me on the PC Engine games that rise to the level of the best SNES stuff, it'd be greatly appreciated and might change my mind!

If only the PCECD translation scene was as ardent as the SFC one.

Seriously, there are a few games I'd love to try out.

It's getting there. Give it time. One high-profile RPG has already been translated, 2 are almost done, and there's a 4th and 5th waiting for attention after that.

I need names, dang it! ;) Are we talking about Ys IV, or something else?

You can play Bikkuriman World, Lady Sword, Makai Hakkenden Shada, Jaseikin Necromancer, Ys IV and Xak III in English right now!

I believe both Legend of Xanadu titles are in the works, as well as Emerald Dragon. No idea what else. I don't follow the translation scene much. Usually I just notice when things are done.

I knew about Ys IV, and I've had Xak III burned for a while. The latter seemed okay, and the former, well, you know I'm not as big a fan of bump combat as you are, Bone.

I edited my last post to include some HuCard games.

YS IV PCE = GOOD
YS IV SNES = BAD

I changed my post a bit. I always knew that the SFC version wasn't considered very good, I just didn't know where the Turbo version stacked up.

EDIT: Okay, so...

Bikkuriman World is just Wonder Boy in Monster Land.
Lady Sword is an eroge dungeon crawler.
Makai Hakkenden: Shada looks like a bad Ys ripoff.
Necromancer isn't finished, unless I'm missing something, and doesn't look particularly impressive.

Surely there's some better stuff for folks to translate! I've heard Illusion City might be pretty good... What other games are out there that would be awesome to see translated?
