Re: girlracer's collection
Congrats, that's a great find. You have a very good collection. I was lucky to get my platinum gamecube for $50 or so including a broadband adapter, various memory cards, phantasy star online and some games. When finding games that cheap like you did is a more joyful experience, that's what I think. Mostly all my n64 and snes collection has been $4-5 max for each cart.
Consoles: NES, Famicom, SNES, GC, GB DMG, GB Pocket, GBC, GBA, DSI XL, N64, VBoy, NDS, 3DSXL, Wii, SMS, GEN+CD+32X, GG, SAT, DC, WS, WS Color, NGPC, XBOX, 360, PS1, PSone, PS2, PSP, PS3, 3DO, CD-I, NGCD, Actionmax, TG16+CD, TE, PCE-DUO, Odyssey2, Playdia, 2600, Lynx & JAG.

2000 members and we finally have our 2nd confirmed female. A lot of good we do to back up those "40% of all gamers are women" articles that constantly pop up. I think our forum's ratio is a bit more accurate to the true numbers, especially since we don't really cover "games" like Bejeweled, Solitaire, and The Sims. I'm betting that where most of the 40% stem from.

yep i've been lucky, only went to ebay for conker and banjo tooie and i ended up with those for less than $15 each. i know the guys at the pawn so things like the mario games have cost me $5 each.executioner wrote:Congrats, that's a great find. yeah i know another girl gamer who is into all kinds of games, now my best friend she will play and even had to call me about hooking something up on friday, i've got her to play left 4 dead with me but she'd rather stick to mario games, the sims, qbert, or her ds.

Yeah, although I've had a large number of girls compliment me on my Mega Man 9 T-Shirt, so I think the number is higher than the forum demographic. But 40% for gamers is too high a number. I'd peg it closer to 20%.Mozgus wrote:2000 members and we finally have our 2nd confirmed female. A lot of good we do to back up those "40% of all gamers are women" articles that constantly pop up. My megaman shirt always has the opposite effect, and not just on girls.MrPopo wrote:Yeah, although I've had a large number of girls compliment me on my Mega Man 9 T-Shirt, so I think the number is higher than the forum demographic.

I would think no more than 10%are "gamers" And probably less than that are really into gaming. I would count a gamer as someone who owns and plays console games
owned: Atari VCS, Intellivision, ColecoVision, NES, NES2, Sega Master System, Turbografx-16, Genesis/Sega CD Model 1, Genesis/Sega CD Model 2/32x, SNES, Atari Jaguar, Virtual Boy, GBA, 3DO, Saturn, Playstation, PSone, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3
wanted: Cd-I, Neo Geo AES

Personally, I find that the sonic t-shirts tend to get me the most action.MrPopo wrote:Yeah, although I've had a large number of girls compliment me on my Mega Man 9 T-Shirt, so I think the number is higher than the forum demographic. The shirt I enjoyed the most was one that an image of a snes controller on the front. Girls would randomly come up to me and start playing with my chest and making blip bloop noises. I seriously miss that shirt.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
