I hate to sound like an old man, but I don't know if I play more games in the summer. With working a full time job, all the days just blend in together. :cry: I miss the days of playing video games while on summer vacation. Dusk/Night Summertime is my favorite time of the year.

However, I'm going to try my best. These might overlap with my 2017 Gaming Resolutions, but here are some games I'm going to work on over the summer!

NES = Batman: The Video Game
GEN = Landstalker: Treasure of King Noble
SNES = Final Fantasy V
N64 = Beetle Adventure Racing!
DC = Sonic Adventure
PS1 = Tales of Destiny
PS2 = Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
GCN = Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
XBOX = Beyond Good & Evil
Misc. = Mega Man X

I'm currently working on two, but they are super long. Some of them are coming up rather quickly and a few are ones I've been working off and on for a long while.

Well that seals the deal, Ecco 1 is definitely going on the list.

Markies I 100% endorse your decision to play landstalker. It is one of my all time favorite genesis games!

Well, it's early, but mark FFV off the list. :P

That other Racketboy tradition:

Flake failing the Summer Games Challenge!!!

As usual, only games I've never really played before:

- Code of Princess
- Metroid Prime: Federation Force
- Super Robot Wars V

..and that's it! With my history of failure, I am only going to aim for a nearby hill, not the moon.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

This is the best possible choice. Everyone should play this. We should make it a rule.

Even if you have little trouble with 90% of the game, once you reach Welcome to the Machine you will be humbled. :wink:

Either way though, the Ecco games are great and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's a good pick.

Here's what I'm thinking...

Ecco the Dolphin (GEN)
RBI Baseball (NES)
Clash at Demonhead (NES)
Banjo Kazooie (N64)
Mario Kart 64 (N64)
Gate of Thunder / Lords of Thunder (TG16)
Day of the Tentacle (iOS)
Guardian Legend (NES)
Landstalker (GEN)
Perfect Dark (N64)

Thoughts?

Ecco the Dolphin (GEN) - Let's do it. 8)
RBI Baseball (NES) - It's OK for what it is. Which isn't much.
Clash at Demonhead (NES) - Pretty good.
Banjo Kazooie (N64) - Barf.
Mario Kart 64 (N64) - Excellent.
Gate of Thunder / Lords of Thunder (TG16) - Excellent.
Day of the Tentacle (iOS) - Was good for its time, may not have aged well.
Guardian Legend (NES) - Excellent.
Landstalker (GEN) - I don't know either, I still need to play this.
Perfect Dark (N64) - Amazing multiplayer, but I wasn't a fan of the single player campaign.

--

I'm presently working on my summer themed list. Which I know is totally not the point of this thread. But I'm still gonna do it.

And yes, System Shock should be a requirement for every gamer ever. It's a stupendously magnificent sci-fi FPS/adventure/RPG hybrid. Hopefully Night Dive's remake will get more people to pay attention to it. Although true OGs can handle the original if they real.

Well, I have a list to start with. 3 are holdovers from last year's spectacular failure. Not so sure about a couple of them, but that's why we discuss this.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Devil May Cry
Mega Man 64
Ogre Battle 64
Pikmin
Seiken Densetsu 3
Starfox
Thief
Wario Land 3

Below are some possible substitutions. 3 of them are definitely more on the side of obscure than classic, but I'm interested in playing them anyway and hope someone will validate me. :lol:

Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem
Exile
King's Field
Koudelka
Ratchet & Clank
Syberia
