Thanks for the protip. I had forgotten about that locked room (I reached it back when I first did 1-2).

Played a bit of Mystical Ninja today. I think I got to Warlock Zone VI or something. I'm unsure on whether I'll continue it or not. It's just so very much the first in the series, and the later games on SNES just improve on everything it does so much that it's hard to go back to something like this.

For starters, the fighting and hit detection in the town parts freaking SUUUCKS. Your weapon's hitbox is sooo much smaller than every other enemy's it's kinda rediculous. At least you have unlimited continues, but damn it's still annoying. Then there's the Alex Kid-way that Goemon moves in this one. I keep expecting him to carry some sort of momentum (Mario-style), but then he just stops on a dime mid-air and I'll occasionally plummet past where I wanted to go  . Not a bad game, but it's a shame the US never saw any of the other 4.

I also started Killer is Dead today, and that game is CRAZY-sauce. It's like No More Heroes' sword play and mission layout meets the crazy hell stuff from Shadows of the Damned. It takes me a little to get into character action games like this, but I just wanna see where the crazy keeps going!

I finished world 4 last night, the boss fight with Storm King was some truly epic stuff, I really enjoyed that battle. And now I understand what Xeo meant about 4-3 being a great grinding spot.

After that, I went to 1-3 and made it all the way to Penetrator. Good lord is that guy an asshole. I fought him five times last night, twice I managed to get his health halfway down, but eventually I would get... penetrated. Might have to come back to him later after gaining some more levels.
I'm glad to hear you liked the God Stingray. There is NOTHING else like that at all in the rest of these games. Rather... there isn't a lot of bosses like these in the rest in general. It's not to say they streamlined them in any capacity (although there's way too many in DS2 and half of them feel like "beefed up normal enemy"). But it's a strength I always like to give Demon's, some bosses and gimmicks might not always work, but it at least had a ton of variety between all of them for the most part. The whole boss roster is very memorable to me.

The 4-1 boss is supposedly one of Miyazaki's favorites, haha.

On another hand, I can't think of a single time through Demon's I've had to really do anything in the 1-3 fight haha, he is so completely forgettable. I guess I had the NPC with me helping out every time. It's like an accidental win, you won't even notice it.

The 1-4 boss is the best and arguably the final boss. The True Demon's Souls Starts Here.

What do you think the Nexus is?

I can't think of many Souls moments that made me feel like this.

Forgettable? The dude starts the fight off by impaling a fat jester who'd been trolling you the whole level!

And then he impales you! Up the tush!

Just kind of a joke boss compared to 1-4, I'd say. 8)

Has anything changed in the Nexus yet?

I beat world 3 today in Kirby's Dream Land 3, the sand one. Basically hated it haha. But the Rob level was freaking cool. The sand slowing you down bugged me a lot in these levels and they started getting longer. But the animal friends came in handy here for sure.

Also..

Was thinking about this gem lately. Dove in and I instantly realized it's probably one of those, best left in the past kind of games haha. Grew up loving it. It was one of those weird games my aunt had, among a few others. So I played it a lot there. I think I beat it. For a weird mascot game, it's pretty cool. But I forgot it's a bit of a collectathon, you have to get a certain amount of bottle caps and items throughout the levels to progress and it's a bit of a strange cluster. Not sure I'll beat it again, but it was fun to dabble into. Tommy Tallarico did the music .

I remember digging the isometric sequel, Spot Goes to Hollywood. I'll check that out again soon.

I work with one of the main programmers that worked on Cool Spot. Pretty rad.

That tells me it's been brought up and discussed before?

That's freaking cool.

I think I prefer the Genesis version.

Cool Spot was one that I think my brothers and I borrowed from friends, and liked, but never actually bought.

For me, DeS continues, cleared worlds 4 then 2, and up to the 3-2 boss, which is made more annoying by the caster on the stairs heading to it. Actually had to go find Patches in 2-2, which I didn't do my last run, but he's my grass vendor now >_>b

Not sure if it has, but I kinda geek out a bit when I think about it. He also worked on Aladdin for the Genny.

Check out Spot The Cool Adventures (gameboy) if you ever bump into it cheap. It's actually Mcdonaldland(gameboy) which was a port of M.C. Kids(NES) that released in Europe they just swapped some assets around when they brought it state side.
