Oh, I didn't mean anything against your or WRPG's! I was just poking fun at Ack's poking fun, is all :P

I like WRPG's too sometimes. Not usually the playstyle of modern ones, mind you. Usually its the story I like and the gameplay is just a mode I can deal with to get there (I ain't a fan of console shooters, you see). I do really like DND CRPG's though. They're my one weakness in terms of WRPG's.

I have both but am playing on Super Famicom.

I have played a bit of the PCE port and the two are a lot different. Namely that the Super Famicom version is way more streamlined and easy. Lacks those glorious cutscenes and voice-acting too.

From what I can tell, it's similar to the Popful Mail situation. The PCE version stays true to the computer originals (+ some CD-ROM enhancements) while the Super Famicom version kinda goes off and does its own thing.

Cool, definitely looking forward to your thoughts on it all when you're done.

RE: Oblivion... when I was asked to join The Blades I declined because Lyna is a loner, Dotty. A rebel.

HOWEVER, I have read conflicting things. Some walkthroughs say that joining The Blades is mandatory to completing the Main Quests. Others say that's not true. So which is it?

Also, how great is this?

Yeah, yeah, well Lyna better get her loner ass into the Fighter and Thieves guilds for fun quests and mad loots. And then there is the Dark Brotherhood...

According to the UESP wiki, which is pretty much the authoritative anything for Elder Scrolls, you do not have to join the Blades to complete the main quest. In fact, Jauffre doesn't have plot armor, and if he dies you can't join the Blades.

yeah that was one of the sources I had read. And I was leaning towards believing it over ones that said you HAD to join The Blades because... that doesn't seem like much of a choice does it?

I hate to say you're doing it wrong, but you're doing it wrong. Ethics? In an RPG? Pfft. Embrace the darkness, noise. Gaze into the abyss, and let it gaze back into you.

yeah. I don't enjoy being the bad guy. It's why I loved Pillars Of Eternity but couldn't get into Tyranny at all. Shrug.
