Games Acquired 2017
Re: Games Acquired 2017
My post office forgot to deliver it so I got it in person there. Relieved to finally get it. Now in 95 minutes I can play it after a update. Ah the joys of modern console gaming. Only need to wait til your next birthday to play a game!

Re: Games Acquired 2017
^ A nice reminder how ideal 360 was when it came to DLC on disc last generation. Especially towards the end where PS3 would litter their GOTY discs with codes. I had no idea Dark Souls ran better on the PS3. It's backwards compatible for the XBO so that could be a boost for the 360 vers.
Re: Games Acquired 2017
lol, I can't mix and match like that. I refuse to play a Souls game on a non Sony gamepad.
Anyways, I'm not sure what about Dark Souls 2 on the PS3 runs bad. You dig into performance about these games and you're going to get framerate nuthuggers. None of it bugs me.

The PS3 has v-sync enabled, causing it to average 10fps lower than the 360, which does not have v-sync enabled. In a game where the action is as frame critical as these games are, I'll take the average extra 10fps and forgo the v-sync.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Games Acquired 2017
To a fair point, sure, since technically they all have problems (if not framerate, frame pacing...or the lack of options on the earlier PC versions, leading to DSfix).Xeogred wrote: Anyways, I'm not sure what about Dark Souls 2 on the PS3 runs bad. That said, the PC versions are the clear way to go if it's a concern. None of the console versions, far as I've seen, can actually maintain their framerate targets. Even SoTFS on PS4, or PS4 Pro patched DS3. Some areas (like Blighttown in DS1) are made more difficult because of consistently low framerate. (apparently, I've never even opened my PS3 DS1 CE).
Practically speaking though, there are two versions of DS2. There's the original release on 7th gen and PC, and then there's SoTFS. For 7th gen, that was just a GoTY edition with all the DLC (on disc for PS3 and 360 in the US AFAIK). For 8th gen and PC, it's an HD remaster that also remixes the game a bit (the only version I've played).
Far as I recall, while the PC does technically have both versions available, they count as two different products - saves are incompatible, etc. The DLC does get bundled with the original release these days, but it's often not the version that goes on sale...
All that to say, the 7th gen console versions of SoTFS do stand out as a way to get the complete original mix of DS2 for a decent price.
Re: Games Acquired 2017
I was going to argue some of that point to Exhuminator myself, but it's easy to assume he opted for the 360 copy while getting some money back for the PS3 version.
But he has Demon's, Dark 1 on PS3, Dark 2 on 360, Dark 3 on PC, and Bloodborne is PS4 only whenever he gets around to that...
Um...
