Pokémon Go

This event basically means for the next week that all 2k eggs (which are coming up more often) can now contain Pokémon in the "super rare" egg tier (that is, those that were in the Silph Road article I linked to the other day). There have been reports of Lapras even appearing in 2km eggs, so the best suggestion is to walk as much as you can! Also take advantage of the 2x XP - I had 5 5km eggs during a Lucky Egg section finish off and not only did I get a Phanpy (finally), I also got 10K XP for all of those. All of them have been replaced with 2km eggs.

Well my 10k egg is near ready to pop so the event won't be a waste, just have to roll out some of the 5s while I can.

Tomorrow I'm going flea market rampaging around to one perhaps two of them just to see what I can dig up and to get out alone and walk (usually have my kid but she's doing a grandma sleep over tonight.) Going to pull $40 from the ATM, plus what's in my wallet from last weeks garage sale I did, and see what happens. I get nothing, I get something, don't really care but it will be good to see things...and get eggs.

Well, it's finally happened. After ten months I have finally reached the milestone that is Level 30


*sky clears, beams of light shine down from the sky, harp music plays from the heavens*

AND I've walked 1,000km!



Unfortunately, that level-up pushed me over by bag limit and I was forced to buy a bag upgrade in order to be able to spin Poke Stops to get eggs for the event this week. I would have rather spent them on Incubators, but I guess it's okay since they gave me three with the new level

And I've been patiently waiting for the free Lucky Eggs, which came in handy thanks to the double experience they're giving out this week. I've already gone through all my Pokemon and picked out the best-of-the-best of all the 'Mon I've been holding off on evolving. So some time tomorrow after I get back from my outing I'm gonna use one of those suckers and evolve about 17 brand-spankin' new Pokemon and everything else I've been storing up to give myself a nice, big experience boost. I shall let you all know how it turns out tomorrow.

I thought they moved stuff around but my 10k opened up with a Dratini in it yesterday. That's the fourth I've had in the game, third in an egg, and best one too which kind of sucks since I've got a dragonair already.

Got a few new additions recently.

First off, I got enough buddy candies to finally get Ninetales.
Next, I found a wild Houndour.
After that I hatched a Larvitar from an egg. It's a pretty good one too, so one day in a million years maybe it'll be a good Tyranitar too.
Today I caught a wild Pineco.
I also hatched a Totodile from an egg.
I'm only 1 buddy candy away from getting my first Bellossom too, so lots of new stuff.

I've been hatching eggs as part of the current event. Including the Larvitar egg I was working on before the event started, I've hatched:

Larvitar (10k egg)
Charmander (2k egg)
Ponyta (5k egg)
Ponyta (5k egg)
Totodile (5k egg)

I have 3 new 2k eggs I'm going to hatch in the hope of getting double candies on something rare, and a handful of other 5ks on the go already. Hoping for something good.

The only news I truly got out of this event so far wasn't even an egg from the event -- My second Lapras from a 10km I got around the time of the event starting. Moveset is Water Gun/Hydro Pump with CP 1430 and 163HP so it'll be used as my primary low-level Water type prestiger.

(EDIT: If I didn't mention the Togepi I got from this event, then maybe I'm wrong! That was finally good to get.

I'm enjoying the double XP immensely, with my Go + I just press and press and get the commons but scrape off the XP!

I got my Gyarados back from the beach gym -- raised the CP from 2599 to the current cap of 2854! It's now my highest CP.

Current egg count is 6 2km and 2 more 10km. We'll see what happens.

Yeah, the actual eggs I've hatched so far during event have been OK - I needed Totodile and Larvitar, but the others weren't needed. I forgot about the Gastly I hatched too, but I've had about a million Gengars so nothing new there. All of these eggs with the exception of Charmander were obtained before the new event started though, so I'm hoping I'll get some good stuff over the next couple of days.

I think this stuff ends tomorrow doesn't it? This week has been a bit of a mess and because they refuse to allow steps to count vs GPS tracking I've had no chance to earn much of anything which blows. I'm not pleased with my results which have been like 2 eggs I've popped and nothing remarkable about them enough I can't even remember what they were.

It's nice they did the event but I kind of wish it had been next week when I'll be doing far more walking and can pocket a backup battery to give me some added push into that.

The event is ending tomorrow at 4:00 US Eastern Time. I believe the eggs we get until then will still count towards the different types we've seen this week, but we won't be getting extra candy or double XP by tomorrow night anymore.

Never seen it before but an egg popped a Tyrogue out. I know it can evolve into one of three random forms from something I read awhile back. I got to look into that.

Also evolved a chinchou today as I finally had the candy (and didn't realize it.)
