[Exhuminator]

Exhuminator, do you only do Brand New orders from Amazon?

When I purchase games from Amazon, I only purchase brand new sealed games. And almost universally I buy them from Amazon itself as the seller.* That's because I can get a Prime discount if it's a new release, and either way I get the game within 2 days of ordering it. I don't like buying used games off Amazon because there's very limited information available on the used games (normally).

So I buy used games off eBay. With eBay auctions the GOOD sellers tend to show lots of photos of the game being sold. I can confirm the case, insert, manual, and disc are all in good condition thanks to copious photos. Plus I find the user feedback system on sellers more informative on eBay than Amazon.

*I think a lot of people's bad experiences with Amazon sales stem from buying from sellers that are not actually Amazon. If you just say "add to cart" without paying attention to which seller you're buying from, you can end up in bad deals.

I hope for the most part people take care of cases more thesedays. But a lot of people definitely didn't give a crap at all back in the day. I even remember knowing some people that threw out their PSX cases and just had CD binders for their games. Yikes.

In my experience Americans in general are terrible about taking care of their games. I don't know why it's so hard not to lose manuals, or not scratch a disc all to hell and smudge it all up with finger grease. On the other hand, used games I've bought from Japan tend to be in excellent condition, and used games I've imported from Europe also fair much better.
