What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
There's no non-lethal option since they still do things like self destruct to try and take you with them. But they also still don't count for the pacifist run. So it's a compromise; they would have had to say from the get go that non-lethal would be an option for bosses (like they did on Missing Link).

While I say I like Dishonored a lot more than the new Deus Ex games, I still love things about them for sure. Overall I think I can easily say Human Revolution is the better game for sure though. Better premise, more hubs, actual ending of sorts, etc, it's just way more complete and still has some remnants of the original games in a good way.
Mankind Divided didn't really leave much of an impression at all. Sadly seemed really forgettable a month after beating it or so. I think they should have done away with Jensen and threw in a new main character to make the entire thing feel more fresh. Otherwise, it just felt too samey... without a good scenario to back it up.
I love how they threw in Daud's Blink+stop ability in for Corvo. That was one of those "Not sure I can go back to vanilla Blink" game changer moments.
I'd still love to do a no powers run with Dishonored and it's super cool they make that even more easily optional in 2. And then they threw in NG+ which is awesome, I think you can even mix and match both power sets somehow.
So these two will continue to be replayed many times over! I wonder if they plan for some story DLC. Dishonored 1's DLC was incredible.

Low chaos Corvo. I want to do high chaos Emily next, even though you'd probably think that should maybe be flipped haha. I've heard some people claim she seems a little harder to use and that the game feels a bit more like it's her story. It will be interesting to see if the dialogue/interactions change at all.MrPopo wrote:Xeo, are you rocking Corvo or Emily? I ended up going Emily and I thought she ended up approaching things differently than Corvo in the first game, which I appreciated to keep things fresh.

I did high chaos Emily as well. In my headcanon she's taking this very personally and the apparent death of Corvo has her not feeling very merciful. Also let me cut loose with her creepy shadow skill.

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Is that her Blink replacement? Reminds me of The Darkness from videos I've seen haha. Yeah it'll be really cool to replay this with completely different powers.
I think this was easily one of the coolest ways to integrate two selectable characters into a game like this.
I hope they make a third. I have no idea how it ends or if it sold well (hopefully, despite my initial gripes with the performance issues). I just want more Dishonored!

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
No, her blink replacement is a single tentacle that grabs onto the destination and pulls you. The crawling shadow thing is a separate skill that's only mildly stealthy; as I recall it puts enemies in the "wtf is that?" state initially but it takes them a few seconds to realize they should probably shoot it, by which point you've triggered a multi takedown (with the appropriate skill enhancement). It moves hideously fast, so it can be used to quickly bust up a party. The other skill I had a ton of fun with was the link skill that makes it where if you kill one target the linked target also dies; it can be used to stealthily take out a separated group patrolling the road and it applies that skill that turns dead bodies to ash when stealth killed, so no inconvenient corpses.

Oh holy crap, I forgot about that one. That was like the #1 ability they were hyping up in trailers and it looked amazing.
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I'm working my way thru the Perfect Dark Perfect Agent campaign. It's tough.
On Area 51 Rescue. I actually got to a few levels ahead of this before but stopped playing for some reason. I didn't want to hook up my old system so I'm starting over.

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I recall that level being insane on Perfect Agent. The sub/alien level was tough too.
You playing the N64 version or the 360 remaster? I remember struggling a lot to beat Perfect Agent as a kid, but I pulled it off (though I don't think I could 100% Goldeneye). I did it again with the remaster, the upped framerate and retooled dual stick controls probably helped, but it was still insanely hard. Lots of trial and error with some missions.

Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I'm playing the 360 version on the XBO via backward compatibility. I bought it on the 360, but don't have it hooked up currently. I, regrettably, never owned the N64 version because back then I had a lot of other stuff to play and being young, not much money to buy all the games. Plus I was kinda put-off that it wasn't an actual sequel to Goldeneye, which in retrospect, was dumb. PD is much better than GE.
I think the 1st Area 51 level is much more difficult that the 2nd one. I can't remember much of the 3rd. It's been a few years since I've played this.
EDIT: Okay, I beat A51 Rescue, not that bad. The next level seems more difficult cause you only have pistols versus a lot of guards wielding SuperDragons, but I did get halfway before I got too careless. Lots of guys to fight. You can check out my gameplay, video on demand, at
I was looking at the leardboard, turns out I didn't finished the next level, Airbase.

That floating body. lol
Ah yeah I guess you're more at the midpoint. Definitely gets way harder.
Such an awesome remaster. It's a shame Nintendo and MS couldn't come to some kind of agreement on Goldeneye, it would have been nice to see that get a similar official remaster. But either way I also like Perfect Dark more myself.
