If you mean from the operation to remove the port, she's been doing great. Just some pain management for her as she heals up from something that's been in her body for a year and a half.

If you mean from her illness and subsequent bone marrow transplant, she's also been doing great and because she is doing great is why we've been able to remove the port. Check ups will be more annual and there's not much fear currently of a remission or other complications. So yay!

:( Bunch if flooding back home, which is practically tradition either right before or exactly when I plan on taking a trip back.

I also feel like shit physically and I'm mentally all screwed up right now. Yay.

:D I'm studying for next week's exam with a girl in my bio class later this week! She even asked me if I wanted to study together sometime instead of me asking her! *///*
She's also staying on campus during the summer, and has said we should hang out sometime! I have excitement :)

Holy shit, I am completely exhausted. It's amazing how fast I lost the endurance I built up swinging a hammer AND this first class started off with the thick stock and tool steel. I can barely raise my right arm now and I wasn't quite able to finish shaping out the rivet tool I was making. I'm actually kinda worried about my class on Thursday now; the only saving grace is that's all going to be thinner stock and mild steel.

I'm taking blacksmithing classes at the local art college. This class is the tool making class, so by the end we'll have a variety of tools that can then be used to assist in making more tools. My previous class ended in early February, so I'm out of shape on my hammer arm and this class started off with stock that is much more difficult to move. The class tomorrow is an artistic forms class; teaching various ways to get interesting looking finished products.

Sounds awesome. What are you ultimately looking to do with the skills?

I don't really have a targeted goal other than have fun pounding on metal and make some nice looking pieces. I'm sure I'll make a few blades at some point. I took the beginner's class on a whim and really enjoyed it, so I figured I'd take some more classes.

Don't listen to him, it's a ruse. This is the second part of a three part plan to rule the world. MrPopo is planning to build an unbeatable mech. He's already got the programming down pat (it will need custom firmware), now he's working on his metal shaping skills. The last part of the plan is advanced circuit design.

This is the truth, as read via this morning's tea leaves.
