yeah my finger got happy with the zero's!!

So who is gonna give me a good deal on this memor32 thing. 60 bucks on web, thats kind of out of control. I would probably be better off just buying games at that price.

You know, there's a forum, a pretty obscure forum. It's kinda cool, you go there and post a thread for what you want and people reply to it.
Here it is.

wclem wrote:I am going to buy a used ps2 tomorrow. Which should I buy??? Fat or slim?!?!?! I will most likely be doing some playing of backups and would like to do this with the least amount of work. Soldering more than 6 wires is out, and it does not seem like there are any mod chips with fewer than 19 wires!! I have been reading around for the last 5 hours and still I am confused at which one to buy. Can you guys/gals help me out???
Least amount of work..... sofmod? No physical work besides pressing buttons on the controller!! No opening up you're ps2, no soldering nothing! I like fat ps2.

Memor32 is something of a ripoff

Google FreeMCBoot, it allows you to modify an existing ps2 memory card to function as a memor32. You just need someone who can run code on the ps2 (or possibly an action replay or some such thing, not sure). Maybe someone on here would be willing to do it for you for a small fee.

I saw a lot of problem topic threads on various forums and was under the impression that it was hard to use. Have things changed or were those users just stupid or unlucky?

I'm not sure how usability improved over time, as I was fairly late to the party, but it seemed to be a pretty idiot proof process to me.

Never improved much, installation is almost the same as it started.

Free Mcboot works perfectly. It's the BEST no-modchip mod you can do to your PS2 (fat or slim). Every game i have downloaded works flawlessly so far. The PS2 has become my favorite console because of Free Mcboot.

Here is a screen shot of my TV to show what it looks like:
