It's ironic you didn't mention Shenmue.arion wrote:Since most games have been pointed out i can only think of Discworld for the saturn.

Re: Adventures for consoles
Some great titles mentioned here. I'd strongly recommend Dreamfall on the xbox, I was surprised just how good that was once it got going. Some reviews have marked it down for not having too much in the way of gameplay, but if it's a story you're looking for then this is your game.
Re: Adventures for consoles
Oops I forgot about Dreamfall and its Xbox port
By the way does anyone know of purely Japanese adventure games (that were translated either officially or by fans)? Maybe pseudo-visual novels like that Famicom Tantei Club Part II game on the SNES.. Policenauts can't be done soon enough!
Btw, Shenmue isn't a pure adventure game. It's got JRPG elements. It's more like Sega's answer to Nintendo's Zelda.

Re: Adventures for consoles
i never got ScummVM to work on PS2 correctly. Works great on PSP though.
Re: Adventures for consoles
Well, since ShadowGate got mentioned, wasn't there also an update for the Nintendo 64? And Game Boy versions as well.

Oh yeah, totally forgot and I don't think it was listed in that list, but Myst III was also ported to PS2.

Re: Adventures for consoles
There's also the Myst-like Echo Night (PS) and Echo Night: Beyond (PS2).

Re: Adventures for consoles
And Echo Night 2 on the PS1, but it's Japan-only and only recently was patched into English.
There's also Michigan: Report from Hell for the PS2, released in Japan and Europe. I can't vouch for the quality of it however.
Crap, I just keep thinking of more...
