I actually don't think Zelda's voice actress was awful. Perhaps a little too melancholy, but it fit her personality and role in this particular game.
Of course, I also don't hear bad accents (I assume that's supposed to be sorta British?), so it could be that folks are having a similar reaction to me when listening to Cindy in Final Fantasy XV. Now that is some awful voice acting.

... exactly. I didn't mind Cindy. So let's just say we're the complete opposite here.
(I hated Ardyn though, I wonder if his Japanese voice would have made me hate him less).
Zelda is supposed to be 17 I think in these flashback memory events. She sounds 40+.

This was my only gripe with her voice actress. I thought she did a fantastic job, and I think the voice fit Zelda perfectly...just not as a 17 year old. Had they gone with, say, Twilight Princess Zelda, I think it would have been fine.Xeogred wrote:Zelda is supposed to be 17 I think in these flashback memory events. She sounds 40+.

If you're from the South, you should know how awful that accent is. I was half-expecting her to bust out her best "How ya doin', Spongebob!?"
(Ironically, I don't mind the accent in Spongebob. It feels in-character there.)

The Ancient Gear does have the highest defense (matching the Knight set), so that's an advantage if you aren't going with Barbarian instead for the attack damage.Xeogred wrote:Now... to come up with those rupees. I guess I'll just sell tons of ore. I didn't realize the Ancient Gear required lots of rupees too. I wonder if I should even bother? Guardians are pretty easy as is late game here.

Wow crying about a perfectly fine video game character voice in english ...yet again, timeless and totally unoriginal.
Curious if any of you have noticed the change in the 1.1.1 update. Nintendo with their kind of dickish vague 'improved player satisfaction' like comment could just have fessed up and had a one liner about cleaning up frame rate problems on Switch in both modes, docked in particular.

Watch the video, quite impressive. I guess I got lucky where I roamed so far, or I'm just used to growing up on 3D games that ran around 20fps and up I don't notice or notice enough to care in the first place. But watching this clip which has sections of the game re-run twice both pre and post patch you can really experience it.

Perfectly fine? Time to get your hearing aid checked out.
Anyone want to drop a hint on the final memory? I'm assuming it's somewhere around the Hyrule Castle area... lots of areas look like it could be it but it's hard to tell. I can't really tell if that's a small area of woods or perhaps the Hyrule Castle clouded up on the top left of the picture. Strangely enough this area seems more dangerous than the actual Hyrule Castle town ruins before the castle, since this area has a lot of legless Guardian's around... the ones outside the castle town walls are everywhere and can snipe you pretty easily. It's easy to handle them but when the Master Sword is down it gets a little trickier.
I'm kind of assuming finishing up the memories will make Impa let me take the shrine ball thing, but I'm not sure. I'm at 105 shrines and have a few quests... I may end up looking up the rest and go for the 120 since I'm this close anyways. I think I need two more stamina upgrades to max it out but I don't really see the point now, so I've just been going for hearts. Currently at 25 and 245 Korok.
I can see that. But in the end let's just say... we're comparing a throwaway random mechanic in one game to an iconic three decade old Princess character and... this is what we got. They certainly could have done better. lolSarge wrote:If you're from the South, you should know how awful that accent is. I was half-expecting her to bust out her best "How ya doin', Spongebob!?"

When you say last memory, are you talking about the one in the lower right corner that is some sort of wooded area?
That one I had to let the painter tell me where it is; there's basically no way you'll figure out where it is other than accidentally stumbling upon it. If you weren't already aware, the painter likes to hang out at the stables if there's a memory nearby that you haven't gotten yet, and he'll give pretty good directions.

No, I guess it's not a huge spoiler, but I found all 12 memory spots but then Impa tells you there's a "final" one after that and the picture hanging up in her house shows the location. But it's really hard to go off of. Some green area with some broken down guardians or something. Maybe I'm missing something or she dropped an obvious hint. But she just says "Not even I know, it's just something you and Zelda shared time with" or something.

You've likely been there and quite early on. It took me a while to figure out where it was as well.
