Everytime a gyro control temple comes up I switch to tabletop mode, because some of them require you to twist the gyros so far that the screen ends up facing away from me and now I can't see. This is especially true when going for chests, as they're often on the underside of the gyro platforms.
If it's like the Wii U, it zeros the puzzle relative to how the controller is held when you "use" the device. So backing out of it and restarting can be helpful. If you mean for the screen though, yeah, I could see doing that. With the Gamepad you're forced to off-TV play for the duration since the game doesn't do screen mirroring, which can make for some odd positioning to keep the screen visible.
I just lifted the controller over my head and looked up at it. Wasn't a problem.

For some of the ones I'm talking about I'd need to do the limbo - bend over completely backwards with the console literally upside down.

I seriously had zero problems with the gyro shrines, but I almost exclusively played on the TV with the pro controller.

I played them with the stock joycons detached on the mount over the TV and they never bugged me either. It felt to me again like they learned their mistakes/evolutions of Wiimote, WiiMotion Plus, to basically this which is like WiiMotionPlus v2 as it's the next natural evolution with the added complexity of the device. It had never occurred to me to cheat and flip things up side down to get around it as it never bugged me (which earlier pre-motion plus was a hit and miss nightmare.)

I hit 60 shrines last night, so officially half way. I've clearly been left behind by most of you lot.

I'm at 243 Korok seeds too.

243?! Wowzers. Are you using a guide, or are you just being that thorough scrounging the countryside? I've only got like 90, with 80 shrines, and extremely minimal guide-checking.

(Like, the only thing I looked up in earnest was the rough area where the last Great Fairy was, so I didn't spend so much time scrounging areas I didn't need to. I probably could have made that more organic by not looking like I have the rest of the game, but doggone it, I wanted some of that highest-level armor!)

Nope, no guide. Considering I've explored half the world at this point, and there's 900 of them, if anything I've missed 210 of the buggers!

I still need to find 2 of the great fairies, but considering I've not been to the entire west side of the map yet I reckon I'll find them soon enough.

Wow dude haha, yeah that's a lot of korok seeds! I'm at 150 or something. I'm still discovering ways to get them... like pushing boulders down big sloopy cliffs into a big hole at the bottom scoring one haha.

I passed 70 shrines last night.

A lot of people here and around seem to be rushing it to get to all these other S+ rank games out lately, but I don't want to do that so I'm still taking my time! I've got one more of the divine beast dungeons and I think 4 more chunks of uncharted areas around the W, SW, S, and SE regions. I'll be content doing 100 shrines at least and hopefully finding all the memories.

I have to say... I guess I don't mind if someone drops a tiny little hint, but the supposedly hidden shrine in the NW region has me completely stumped. I'm assuming there's some destructible wall in the cliff somewhere but I have no clue. I've even run around the area with the magnetic/time runes on (sometimes helps you see moveable objects and whatnot), but yeah. I love being stumped like this though. I know there's one I've done out in the open at the very edge of the NW map, but there seems to be another one somewhere before that.

Here's your hint:
If you're talking about the shrine that seems like it is under a mountain, the entrance is surprisingly far to the east.

The other shrine you might be talking about is indeed underneath where you're standing with the entrance extremely close by; it's a case of "too obvious".
