I know that DC and XBox had such big homebrew scenes, but in a sense I can't believe that PS2 isn't more developed for. It's a fairly inexpensive, very easy to find console that has a hell of lot of power.
Anyway, I found a PS2 Linux bootloader here:
http://mitglied.lycos.de/ps2dev/linux.html
but I haven't really figured anything out yet. I tried to follow the tutorial, but it says things I'm having trouble following. (Like it says "put vmlinux in this directory" and I'm like 'OK, so what's vmlinux? Where am I supposed to get that file?" etc).
I downloaded all the files from the project page, and I got the .elf to start up, but all it did was freeze at the page that said "Please Wait... Loading."
HOWEVER, If I CAN get this linux build to work, then there's a link from that site for a Sony-approved download of the Broadband internet browser. So I THINK I'm making steps in the right direction.
PS2 Web Browser?

Re: PS2 Web Browser?
I never did figure this linux kernel loader out. The directions, though abundant, make very little sense to me. I feel like the skip major details.
Also, apparently there was a homebrew app called PS2Broswer (or something like that) that had been mentioned on maxconsole as reaching a version 1.9... but I can't seem to find it anymore. Dammit.

I think that app wasn't a browser but something in the lines of ulaunch to manage files. Think I tested it years ago when trying to find a way to backup memory card saves to usb and it was rather ackward. I've been thinking of trying out the BB Navi just for the kicks, so I'm like you just doing it for fun.noiseredux wrote:I never did figure this linux kernel loader out. Re: PS2 Web Browser?
I've mostly given up lately, since I've been mostly playing Gamecube and GBA Player with my limited spare gaming time.
